Another wedding anniversary, another 'posh' hotel. The flowers & bubbly were served as requested, the service was excellent, and the food, for me (a carnivore) was also excellent, but for my veggie partner the lack of choice on the second evening spoilt, but, when asked,an alternative was found. The bedroom was the disappointment. When in the room, it was quaint... More

As NT members we visited BH for a walk around the grounds and garden; we were impressed with what we saw and decided to return for a stay and meal. So for our 35th anniversary we booked a one-night break (on a Monday night). The booking was straight-forward although the lady we spoke to was a little confused and did... More

We stayed one night in a most attractive cottage in the grounds of the hotel. It was beautifully appointed and had everything we could possibly want. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and the public rooms in the hotel were delightful too. We have stayed before and would certainly come again. We were only sorry that we could not... Excellent gluten free tea, much better than I expected. A dry walk, after the hurricane! in the "Perfect for Pollinators" garden with bee hives, & woodland -such an important habitat. Pleasant helpful staff. All delightful.

Stayed for a belated birthday treat and absolutely loved this national trust, historic house hotel. The hotel is a unique, historic house with the comforts of a five star, traditional hotel. We loved it because it is small, quiet and "boutique" with wonderful, individuals who offer caring and attentive service in the most natural way. We dined on both evenings,... More

We booked in to this Hotel at the recommendation of our travel agent. We were initially given an average room overlooking the rear car park however the bed mattress was faulty however when this issue was raised to the Hotel Manager we were upgraded to a suite overlooking the garden and through a panoramic view to the distant bridge. The... More

We would highly recommend this hotel. Excellent accommodation. Friendly and courteous staff. The Spa was a bonus and the pool. Treatments were a high standard. The bistro served a good lunch and there were extensive walks within the property.

This Historic House Hotel of the National Trust, the oldest part of which dates from the C13th, exudes charm. It is not the place for those who love modern, chrome and glass hotels but for anyone who enjoys peace, beautiful gardens and quirky buildings, this is for you. We stayed for 3 nights in room 15 and for one night,... More

Bodysgallen Hall is a 17th century grade I listed Manor House hotel owned and run by The National Trust. It is full of old world charm and staffed by courteous staff who provide a first class service without being overly friendly or servile; a difficult balance that many up market hotels would/could learn to do properly by coming here. There... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Standing in over 200 acres of its own parkland to the south of Llandudno with spectacular views of Snowdonia and Conwy Castle. Believed to have 13th century origins, Bodysgallen Hall provides all that is best in country house hospitality. Beautiful gardens include a rare 17th century parterre of box hedges filled with sweet-scented herbs, a rockery with a cascade, a walled rose garden, and several follies. Historic House Hotels Ltd bought and rescued the house from a dilapidated state in 1981 and restored the 17th century house and gardens. In September 2008 Historic House Hotels Ltd and its interest in all its properties were given to the National Trust to ensure their long-term protection, with all profits benefiting the houses and the charity. The 15 extremely comfortable bedrooms in the Main Hall offer several different room types, including the four elegant principal suites. Each bedroom is individually decorated and furnished with antique furniture, paintings and prints, enjoying glorious views of Bodysgallen's parkland or gardens, with some rooms having further reaching views of Conwy Castle or the distant Mountains of Snowdonia. There are 16 cottage suites with picturesque names like The Smithy, Box Cottage and Pineapple Lodge, are situated in the grounds, and provide accommodation for guests preferring a greater degree of privacy. Many cottages enjoy their own private gardens and some are in close proximity to the Bodysgallen Spa. All are charming and delightful. The hotel has two restaurants: The Dining Room in the main hall has been awarded three rosettes for fine dining by the AA - the only restaurant in Llandudno to be awarded such - and offers imaginative meals prepared from fresh local produce and complemented by fine wine. 1620, Bodysgallen Hall's new Bistro opened at the end of 2008, and offers uncomplicated, good value food in a contemporary setting. The Dining Room at Bodysgallen overlooks the gardens and has been recognised as one of the best places for Sunday Lunch in the United Kingdom by The Observer newspaper. The Spa is approached by a short walk through the garden or by a private road. Converted from an original stone built farm it contains a magnificent 50' swimming pool edged with comfortable reclining chairs, whirlpool spa bath, steam room and sauna. A superb gymnasium has all the latest technologically advanced equipment, suitable for all ranges of fitness. A comfortable Club Room is a place where guests and members can relax and enjoy drinks and light meals, which in the summer are also served on the terrace. Residential guests have full use of the Bodysgallen Spa.Bodysgallen Hall is situated about 2 miles south from Llandudno and the North Wales coast. It is surrounded by over 200 acres of beautiful gardens and wooded parkland. Bodysgallen Hall has magnificent views of Snowdonia, and Conwy Castle. It's the perfect setting for a relaxed holiday at all times of the year.
