Just got back from a very enjoyable one night stay. The hotel is actually two that have been ' knocked through ' and are part of a terrace of seafront hotels. It enjoys a good location being only 25 yrs from the beach, and a short walk to the main shops. You MUST allow for the fact that this is... More

We stayed at the Montclare after the hotel we originally booked in double-booked us. We stayed for two nights in a family room on the third floor from July 24 to 26. The hotel and the room were clean, nicely furnished in an older style, and the staff were pleasant enough. The hotel is perfectly situated, with the pier and... More

Stayed here in June 2014. We were given a room at the top of the hotel. On booking when I spoke to the lady, she made it very clear the room was at the top of the hotel and that there was no lift. She also made it clear that parking could be a problem, but i would find parking... More

My assistant booked this accommodation online on my behalf, influenced by the 4 star rating and location, but after reviewing Tripadvisor I instantly decided to abort the reservation. Unfortunately if one cancels within 7 days of your stay there is a 100% cancellation fee. Reluctantly I decided to turn up and knew instantly I had made a mistake. It is... More

Took my son for one night- the photographs on the website very missleading- bedroom up three flights of stairs and my son is handicaped- not told of this before we booked or arrived. Manager not very cooperative- no parking but advertised that there was- had better breakfasts in other hotels- bar did not have draught ale only bottled

After months of cancer treatment (my hubby) we decided to spend his 61st birthday (17th May) in Llandudno, Wales and we stayed at Montclare & Cumberland Hotel to celebrate him being cleared. We were greeted by beaming smiling faces of Tess & Ian (owners) . Such lovely couple and we stayed in a beautiful spotless room with the sea view,... More

My wife and I discovered this gem several years ago by chance. Since then we've returned on a number of occasions with friends and with family. Tessa and Ian are always most welcoming and the hotels are spotless. This time we stayed in Room 7 in the Cumberland - two windows (one of which was a bay window) gave an... More
