We stayed two nights at Ocklynge Manor and wish we could have stayed longer. We felt very welcome by Wendy and David and enjoyed everything: The house and its history, the gorgeous garden and last but not least the perfect and heartful breaktast service. Wendy is preparred to give every advice you need to have your stay at your wishes.... More

We were being pampered with delicious homemade food by the most gracious landlady Wendy (sorry David we didn't leave you any cake) in paradisical surroundings. We thoroughly enjoyed our animated breakfast discussions and spent three cosy and relaxing days at the manor house despite heavy rainfalls and high winds. We will definitely come back since everything has just been perfect.

We had five nights at Ocklynge Manor. We could not have felt more welcome. The property is beautiful and our room was comfortable and quiet. Wendy is the perfect hostess - she even gave me a portion of her precious sourdough starter and I am diligently nurturing it until it and I are ready to bake a loaf. Breakfasts were... More

Our recent stay (August 2015) was delightful. Ockynge Manor is a really excellent place to stay. Our room was lovely with every comfort, the breakfast first class and the garden is an astonishing oasis within the town. Above all Wendy and David were so welcoming and informative. Nothing was too much trouble for them. We certainly hope to go back.... More

We have just returned home from our second visit of the year to Wendy and David’s beautiful home in Eastbourne. This time, we stayed in the spacious and comfortable double suite which benefits from a pretty dressing room and en-suite bathroom. The garden looks fabulous in the summer sunshine and, on our second afternoon, Wendy served us with her yummy... More

The house is a perfect gem of an english country house (even though it's in Eastbourne). Its a beautifully kept/restored house that I think is about three hundred years old but don't think it's dark - it's light and gracious and beautiful. Our room was fabulous - it felt special being there. Our hosts were very welcoming - with tea... More

We have recently returned from 5 weeks in Europe & our 2 night stay at Ocklynge Manor in Eastbourne was indeed a highlight!! After a 22 hr flight from Australia, an easy train ride from London Gatwick Airport to Eastbourne we were greeted by the lovely Wendy. On arrival Wendy served us delicious cake & tea by the arched windows... More

A beautiful house, stunning gardens and such wonderful hosts. What more can one ask for? We were greeted with tea and homemade cake which we consumed in the tower overlooking the gardens. We were made to feel extremely welcome by Wendy and David to the extent that we felt like one of the family. Our room was beautifully decorated, everything... More

We spent just one night at Ocklynge Manor as part of a tour of the South Downs National Park, we couldn't have asked for better accommodation. Wendy greeted us with a tea tray in the garden including delicious cake. Our room was enormous with a separate dressing room and en suite bathroom, a very comfortable bed and a wonderful view...
