These days we tend to rely heavily on Trip Advisor reports when we are about to book any accommodation so we were pleased to see so many positive comments here about Ocklynge Manor before we made our booking. Anyone else who follows this principle will be pleased to hear that our own experiences of this attractive property (in late October... more

A wonderful welcome with a fascinating potted history by Wendy and David; the tea and home made cake to greet us; the comfort and added thoughtful gestures: DVDs, corkscrew, wine cooler; and the marvellous breakfast. My daughter was assured that the hospital was 'just up the road' (She was 35 weeks' pregnant.) should it be needed. I could go on.... more

I'm hesitant about saying too much as for selfish reasons I don't want Ocklynge Manor to become so popular that I'll find it difficult to get a booking! If you want to escape from the hurly-burly of modern life and step back into a more genteel era, this hidden treasure island is for you. The house and gardens are conducive... more

We stayed for 7 nights at Ocklynge Manor and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was spotlessly clean with lovely views over the garden. Wendy and David were excellent hosts and we were made to feel very welcome. On arrival Wendy brought a pot of tea and homemade cake to our room , a really nice touch. Wendy gave useful... more

Ocklynge Manor lived up to all the great reviews. The house was gorgeous and our room was beautiful, pristine and very comfortable. All amenities were provided including lovely toiletries in the bathroom. The breakfast was fantastic with homemade bread and jams. Nothing was too much trouble for Wendy, our host, and we were extremely well looked after. I could not... more

One friend of ours in Eastbourne suggested that in our 3night stay tehre should choose Ocklynge Manor and that is what we did after we checked their very elegant website! Wendy and David both really polite and sweet made us feel like home and the aura of this house is wonderful! The garden is something amazing, you walk around the... more

My husband and I stayed at Ocklynge Manor for two nights in mid April. We were warmly welcomed, the room we stayed in was impeccably clean, delicately decorated and very cosy, and we were absolutely charmed by Wendy and David's hospitality and professionalism. The garden was filled with flowers and very well attended, and I fell in love with this... more
