My recent 4 day stay was truly exceptional. It's interesting how quickly you feel at home at Wendy and David's stunning 18th century showplace. The house and garden are spectacular and the perfect setting for a memorable stay. Better still, Wendy and David are brilliant hosts, and I felt the warm embrace of their hospitality as soon as I walked... More

If you desire a home away from home experience with fabulous service and food then Ocklynge Manor is the place for you. My brother and I were over from America visiting relatives in the area. Wendy and David not only made us feel so very welcome they also, without hesitation, enabled us to have other members of our family stay... More

We stayed with Wendy & David Dugdill at Ocklynge Manor for 4 nights from 23.9.14. Wendy greeted us personally and made us very welcome. She and her husband are very proud of their exceptionally beautiful garden, in which, on arrival, we were invited to share tea and cake whilst being acquainted with the Manor and its facilities. The rooms are... More

We booked a three night stay in room 2 and were warmly welcomed by Wendy with tea and home made cakes in the beautiful garden. Wendy spent considerable time giving us helpful information about the places we wanted to visit and recommending places to eat. Our bedroom was very spacious, beautifully furnished and overlooked the garden. It also had a... More

We have just returned from a wonderful weekend staying at Ocklynge Manor in order to attend my cousin's wedding in town. The owners Wendy & David were a sheer delight and as many posters have said previously it felt more like staying with an old family friend or relative than being in a B&B. From the bedrooms to the breakfasts,... More

Instantly inviting, this 300-year old charmer, set in extensive grounds makes you forget that you are just ten minutes amble from the centre of town. We were partly drawn here because this manor was the home of the wonderful illustrator of children books, Mable Lucie Atwell. Our lovely duet hosting offered hospitality , which should be a benchmark in the... More

An unexpected high-light to an already spectacular weekend. From the car park at our arrival to the same car park at our departure we were made to feel hugely welcome. Staying here was like staying with family or good friends, the atmosphere was relaxed, genuinely warm and very welcoming. As for the accommodation, we had the number 1 room and... More

This is a beautiful home in which Wendy welcomed us as honoured guests. The room was absolutely beautiful, as was the cake! The gardens defy description - you have to go and see them. We were there at an emotionally sensitive time (for us) and we received empathy and genuine concern. We will return to this exceptional home.

when approaching the house, there is nothing spectacular you will see. but this is fine. Wendy has a nice old manor house, but what we really found spectacular is her garden. this is a small part of heaven with cosy places to sit and enjoy a cup of tea or read - or more up to date to check the...
