We usually stay in a hotel when travelling, so this was the first time we have tried a Bed and Breakfast. I have been known to be very "picky " and critical of the standard of many holiday accommodations, so it is with great pleasure I am able to compliment Wendy on her establishment. Not only was it on a... More

We have just returned from a delightful stay at Ocklynge Manor. The Georgian house stands on ancient site going back to Roman times and once an important Commandery of the Knights of St John of Jerusalem. The high boundary wall hides a garden that will take your breath away. The rooms are clean, spacious and very comfortable and there is... More

This was the second time I have stayed at Ocklynge having previously been here in 2010. The intervening years have not seen the quality of this B&B change. It's still as very good and a great place to stay to explore what Sussex has to offer. Remarkably good value for a 5 star stay. Highly recommended.

Ocklynge Manor is a lovely place to stay. Everything about the place is perfect - Wendy is an excellent host who goes out of her way to help you in every way, including with information about places of interest in the area and local restaurants etc; breakfast was excellent and our rooms were very beautifully furnished and maintained. And make... More

We were welcomed quite late in the day by Wendy. A lovely warm welcome that put us at ease. The room was comfortable and very clean. We both slept very well and enjoyed our stay. It is definitely worth walking around the garden, even in February, and we were amazed that Wendy and her husband do all the gardening themselves.... More

Faultless. An elegant house with immense character, a fascinating history, and a stunning garden. Wendy is a perfect hostess, nothing is too much trouble, the rooms are beautifully fitted out and very comfortable, immaculately clean, every facility is provided (including dressing gowns and slippers!), the food is first class, there is parking on site, free wifi and Wendy even offered... What a delightful surprise to find such a place. Everything was so lovely starting with the welcoming tray of tea and delicious cake to the kind lift down to the train station. Wendy and David have created an exceptional place in their restoration and decoration of this interesting, historic house and gardens. Wendy's superb hospitality is evident at every turn.... More

Ocklynge Manor is an excellent place to stay: friendly and very hospitable hosts, superbly appointed rooms, great cooked breakfast with homemade preserves and freshly prepared fruit salad. We stayed for one night and will certainly be returning!

My wife and I stayed at this magnificent manor house on New Year's Eve. Wendy and her husband are the best hosts ever and made us feel so welcome. Nothing was too much trouble - even offering to drive us to our venue on New Year's Eve!! The manor is absoulutely wonderful. A wealth of history going back a thousand... More
