We have recently returned from 5 weeks in Europe & our 2 night stay at Ocklynge Manor in Eastbourne was indeed a highlight!! After a 22 hr flight from Australia, an easy train ride from London Gatwick Airport to Eastbourne we were greeted by the lovely Wendy. On arrival Wendy served us delicious cake & tea by the arched windows... More

A beautiful house, stunning gardens and such wonderful hosts. What more can one ask for? We were greeted with tea and homemade cake which we consumed in the tower overlooking the gardens. We were made to feel extremely welcome by Wendy and David to the extent that we felt like one of the family. Our room was beautifully decorated, everything... More

We spent just one night at Ocklynge Manor as part of a tour of the South Downs National Park, we couldn't have asked for better accommodation. Wendy greeted us with a tea tray in the garden including delicious cake. Our room was enormous with a separate dressing room and en suite bathroom, a very comfortable bed and a wonderful view... Very welcoming, friendly and helpful hosts, beautiful gardens, peaceful rooms. However, one or two things were disappointing - a small bed for the size of the room, minimal refreshment tray with limited alternatives to basic tea and coffee and no fresh milk, and very average breakfast, apart from the home-made bread. We had very high expectations because of the good... More

Thank you for taking the time & effort to complete a review. You appear to be unhappy with our location. We make it quite clear we are just over a mile from the sea front, in a quiet residential area. If you wanted a rural setting or seafront promenade, you could have seen this from our website map. It reminds... More

After the long flight from Australia, we were welcomed to Ocklynge Manor by Wendy and David and shown to our beautiful room overlooking their stunning garden. This was the beginning of our three night stay and it just got better. Ocklynge Manor is more than a B & B it is a wonderful experience with Wendy at the heart of... More

My partner and I have just spent 6 weeks driving around England and one of the highlights by far was the 4 nights we spent at Ocklynge Manor B & B. It was so wonderful to stay in accommodation where every possible detail has been thought of and the overall décor of the place is so incredibly tasteful. All down... More

My wife and I stayed for two nights at this wonderful B&B. It is probably the best B&B that we have ever stayed in. Really well maintained property with immaculate rooms. Wendy and David the owners were extremely welcoming and kind making sure that we were provided with everything we needed. We will definitely stay there again when we come... More

I am sitting in a bedroom, looking through a beautiful window and a stunning mid-Spring English Garden, near the sea, on the Sussex coast. To my right rests a tray, loaded with silver tea pot and a healthy slice of gorgeous lemon cake. And having spent 5 hours just, driving down from North Yorkshire, I am visiting heaven for the... We have not been thrilled with the concept of bed & breakfast and usually stay in reasonable quality hotels, but having been disappointed with several supposedly 4 star hotels in Eastbourne and after seeing the positive reviews on Trip Advisor we decided to give Ocklynge Manor a try and we are so pleased that we did. The location is like... More
