We took a trip to Eastbourne last minute and booked this on the day, but we were not disappointed. Greeted by the owner who was friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and quaint, lovely guesthouse in a central location of Eastbourne. The room had its own bathroom with tea/coffee/biscuits and free WIFI. At breakfast there were a few choices... Spent a few days here last week with Bo and Carole. When I came last year they had literally just taken over. A year on every bit as good with a few new touches. Breakfast really good. Rooms very well equipped and clean. A lovely friendly guest house. Will be back next year

We have just returned from short stay in Eastbourne. The Sherwood has all you need for a very relaxing, homely stay. Excellent location for strolls along the front and close to the pier and shops. Parking is in the street nearby but parking tickets are available from the Sherwood. Great selection for breakfast with efficient service. Rooms are spotlessly clean... More

Really clean, lovely rooms, such friendly staff. Good food. Stayed at Easter, and kids had easter eggs and everyone had a cream egg! Such a thoughtful idea.best hotel so far we have stayed in at Eastbourne.

Bo and Carole give a very personal and friendly service. They both made a point of talking to us and seeing how we were. The breakfast selection was great! I was very impressed by that. It was also just 3 minutes away from our conference venue so that was extremely handy. But it was also only a 10 minute walk... More

We stayed here for one night as we wanted to go to Beachy Head. The Sherwood is quite basic but is clean and did the trick. It is a typical traditional English guest house with a quaint feeling to it. Nice if you want to avoid the soul-less Premier Inn/Travelodge type rooms. The location is perfect - you can walk... More

Stayed there for one night. A very clean, basic but comfortable room. There was ample tea and coffee in the room. The en suite was small but spotless. We were made very welcome, the breakfast was great with a good variety and the staff were very friendly. I would recommend this hotel for the budget conscious as it is not... More

The Sherwood is a pleasant enough hotel but how it merits 4 stars is baffling to us. Maybe we were unlucky with one of their lesser rooms but our twin was cramped and the decor was very basic and a little bedsit in style rather than four star! The breakfast was rather small but was hot and cooked well. The... More

As soon as we arrived and saw the room we were dissapointed. The bed was small and cheap the furniture was tired, the room was dark and depressing, with the window giving marvelous views through the back garden passage, sheds and bike store. The bathroom was a tiny corner built in an aready small room. We told ourselves that we... More
