A very friendly welcome . Lovely big room nicely decorated with great little kitchen and bathroom, all spotlessly clean. Excellent breakfast, but had eaten too much the night before to make the most of it! Thank you Carl and Sarah

Hi Lynn Thank you for your kind words (the girls here will be chuffed to hear 'spotless'!). Great to hear you enjoyed yourselves - including the breakfast! We've just received a Sussex Breakfast award meaning that we source local produce from sustainable sources wherever possible so it's rewarding to get the feedback :) Carl More

We enjoyed our stay in Eastbourne very much, the guesthouse was clean and the owners very hospitable. We had a great time at the beach which is super close-by. We also had a good time walking around the area and had some really nice food at local restaurants. Thanks for having us!

Hi Ollie It was a pleasure having you guys stay - glad you enjoyed yourself around Eastbourne, with the beach and all the main attractions so close by - gazing out to the sea as I open the door of the guesthouse every day always brings a smile to my face! See you again I hope Carl More

We enjoyed ourbstay in Eastbourne. The hotel was in a great location. The self catering kitchen was a bonus but no oven just a microwave. Breakfast as an extra for self caterers was a treat. The noisy plumbing didn't spoil our experience. The bathroom facilities were very good.

Thanks for finding time for the review, Janice and lovely to hear you enjoyed yourselves. The extra space and flexibility of the kitchens seems to work well for so many of our guests - they're well equipped other than not having an oven although we're always very happy to let guests use the main guesthouse oven if they fancy baking... Lovely room; good to have kitchenette with option to make own meals. Also possible to have the Guesthouse breakfast. Location handy for station, sea front, shops and restaurants. Friendly welcome - tea and cakes appreciated after a long drive.

Hi Dave After a long drive the least we can do is to reward you with tea and sustenance and allow you to step outside for an invigorating stroll along the prom or up along the Seven Sisters clifftops :) Glad the kitchen worked well for you as well. See you again Carl More

It has been through first time we have experienced family type of hotel. The owner and their family are very friendly and helpful. The room is stylish and very clean . Breakfast was very nice. It has very homy feeling. The only down side of the basement suite we stayed was the noise every time we used the bathroom.

Hello and thank you for taking time to leave a review. The major benefit of a guesthouse over a larger hotel is (or should be) the personal service which allows you to get the most out of your stay (be it with helpful advice on what to see, where you might enjoy to eat, etc) depending on what your interests... Very conveniently located, close to some of the best hotels in Eastbourne, which made us feel smug. Nice to be able to self-cater. Large high-ceilinged main room. The only drawback was the plumbing. Although 100% effective, it made a strange noise after use.

Hi Diane, Great to hear that enjoyed our fab location, just by the seafront. It's a grand old Grade II-listed building, so there are some lovely original Regency features - the ceiling height and huge sash windows so lots of natural light, fireplaces in every room - but transformed in some ways (each suite comes with a modern kitchen), but... Lovely guest house and family. We stayed in a family room with kitchen facilities. The room was very tastefully decorated, was light and airway with comfortable beds. The kitchen was spacious and clean as was the bathroom. Would definitely recommend and hope to stay again.

A lovely stay, friendly owners. Room was nice and clean, great location, near to the sea and center Eastbourne. We were ( with a husband ) in apartment ( second floor) with a small hall, a bathroom, a kitchen and windows to the street and side view of the sea. Nice 2 weeks:)

Hello Cornelia It wonderful to hear your positive feedback and that you and your husband enjoyed your two week stay with us. I think having your own kitchen is such a bonus, providing the extra space and facilities that is so invaluable for a longer stay. I do hope you can make it back to Eastbourne at some point. We are a family of 5 and we only stayed one night but we were really impressed with Guesthouse East. It's in a great location, close to the front, and the accommodation was clean and of a very high quality. The main room slept 5 easily and there was a separate bathroom and a small kitchen, perfect! We had a... More

Thank you so much for leaving the feedback for other potential guests - so many people stay with us on because of the positive comments that others have left. We also love being in such a fab location, making it so easy to pop out for a stroll along the beach or to the shops and theatres - we took... More

Stayed for one night on a weekend with our daughter in her 20s. Very flexible. Really warm welcome from the family, we were made to feel at home from the start. The room was spacious and had everything we needed. Only issue was with the noisy plumbing which cant be helped so has to be accepted. Good breakfast, though would... More
