This hotel had good points , restaurant staff lovely, close to beach and shops . However, we were upset with our room. Having paid a fair price for what I believed would be top of the range room as advertised on booking.com . I checked the photos to each type of room that was advertised and believed what I saw... I agree with a lot of the reviewers, this is an old hotel and the furniture could do with a bit of updating, BUT ! the staff were excellent, the food was very good and varied, and our room on the 4th floor was first class. OK it was a bit tight, but it had everything we needed. Don't expect... More

I live in Eastbourne but needed to stay in hotel as my flat was being decorated. Staffs excellent Eva on reception very helpful and the staff at breakfast went out of their way to help Love the old lift don’t change that but the bedrooms need updating the furniture must be from about 1930 Well its only 3 star and... I stayed here a few months ago on business, just for the one night. Overall a peaceful nights sleep in a room with a nice view. Going into more detail, the room was very old in terms of décor, bathrooms fittings, furniture, carpets and bedding yet the hotel still maintained a great deal of its original character. The breakfast was... More

Hotel was allocated during a 3 day conference. No choice available, had there been one, then this hotel would not have been top of the list. This is a very tired 3* hotel, on continental Europe this would be a 2* plus. The smallest en-suite possible, bend down to use the sink, one's rear end hits one wall and one's... More

Good size room but a little bland and dated. A full size fridge was good but odd to have in the room. Ironing board and iron not in room. Fabulous old lift with seats in - a lovely feature. Well positioned. Our room had sea views and the brightest bathroom we've ever experienced. This room with a change of furniture... More

Having stayed at this 3 star hotel as a member of a coach party, I can recommend it for future travellers as being at the upper end of what one would expect for 3 stars The hotel is clean, warm, and comfortable, with spacious rooms and plenty of storage space. The TV was flat screen, aprox 22" wide, with usual... More

No hot water, food was inedible, pillows uncomfortable and stiff, single room and cost £90 for the night. Don't think so! These people are ripping off older folk its disgusting. The staff are it's only redeeming feature really-can't do enough for you. The owner (and his son who drives a Lamborghini off the pensioners profit) couldn't care less. What's more,... More

Was quite amazed at the decor inside the hotel, had an oldy feel, defo needed up dating but i've seen worse. Warm and cosy i suppose, expected what we paid for, however the function room/ bar at the bottom of the hotel was so loud with music pumping out from 7pm in the evening right through till 3:30am, making it... We booked in at the Chatsworth on a whim. Had we checked the Trip Advisor reviews, we would have probably have left well alone BUT, on a bitterly cold, snow filled evening, the whole place had a cosy glow about it. Receptionist Alex was welcoming and friendly, the bar looked inviting and and we got a very good rate for... More
