we stayed at the chatsworth last week and although it looked grand from the outside and the ornate lift in the reception area gave an appearance of being grand it was not. it was clean and the breakfasts that we had were excellent the staff were ok in reception but could have been a bit more welcoming. In the dining... More

We stayed 3 nights at the Chatsworth as we attended a conference in Eastbourne. The rooms were clean and comfortable , We had hot water unlike last year when we stayed in the sister hotel Mansion Lion which is next door to the Chatsworth . The staff were helpful and went out their way to make us feel welcome. We... More

I stayed 2 nights at this hotel, and I used it as a base for a conference in Eastbourne. The first night was very disturbed as there was a problem with the pipes which meant that every time someone in the vicinity , including myself, turned on a tap there was a horrid banging sound like a drill. This went... More

On our many trips to Eastbourne we always pop into this hotel. A classic bayfronted Victorian hotel in the most fantastic seafront location. It's one of the smaller ones, but no less grand. When the sun's shining you can enjoy the added bonus of their lovely raised terrace at the front too, which is also small, but just perfect for... More

I stayed here for work, when I first turned up the rooms were boiling hot, and u couldnt turn the heating off. Then the food in the restaurant was alfall, it tasted like a microwaved dinner, and u didnt hav a choice of what u wanted. The windows got jamed open, the showers would flood, there was damp patches in... More

I guess in its heyday this hotel was grand. With elegant features and high ceilings, the rooms are generously proportioned and ours had wonderful sea views. However, this hotel,s grandeur faded many years ago. The room was shabby, dated and in desperate need of a refurb. The bed was comfortable, but only the sheets and pillowcases were clean. The duvet... More

Good value for money here but basic rooms. I struggle with Eastbourne hotels as they all seem much older and not modern by any means. Hotel needs to be modernised in my view. Not good for disabled customers and sadly no dinner as reservations were required. Nice small bar - room was clean. Wouldnt stay again. Personaly a 2 star... More

For a number of years now my staff christmas bash has been held at the Chatsowrh Hotel in Eastbourne and this year was no different. We all enjoyed our meals. i chose a superb seafood (prawn and salmon) starter followed by a delicious soup (leak and potato), main course( traditional xmas fayre) , with dessert (cheesecake, my husband had cheese...
