We stayed at the Chatsworth Hotel this past weekend for our annual family get together and I must say that the hotel looked after us very well. There was 39 of us altogether, the meals were very good, the accommodation was excellent and the staff seemed to be super organised. If they weren't, they certainly covered it up well! Special... more

this hotel looked impressive from the outside lobby also quite nice but i was taken to my room this was like something out of the 1970s. i had a single room whch was like a broom cupboard, the wallpaper was peeling off ,the drawers were broken. the tv only had 3 channels which were sky channels. the shower had no... more

Stayed overnight during the weekend. Found the place to be lovely and old fashioned in a really good way. Fantastic lift with a bench in, as the hotel centrepiece. We had a great room looking out to sea and the pier which was a good size, albeit a very small bathroom. Friendly staff who were helpful, and a lovely breakfast... more

I stayed at the Chatsworth when I covered the tennis in Eastbourne in 2006. When I returned I was placed in the sister hotel down the road which I did not like at all, poor room, breakfast table in the middle of the dining room on my own surrounded by coach parties. To their credit they listened to my complaints... more

The outside of the hotel looks impressive, as does the lobby, but it's all downhill from there. The hotel is "tired" and needs a couple of million spent on it to bring it up to standard. Our room was really small, with badly fitted units, more suited to a single room rather than a double. Really overpriced for what we... more

My wife and I only spent one night in this hotel. Thank Goodness!! It was in January, I know, not in the peak season to be staying in a seaside hotel. We were working at a conference in Eastbourne so were the least we were hoping for was a good night's sleep, let alone a comfortable stay. Unfortunately this wasn't... more

My husband and i only required a one night stay in Eastbourne whilst visiting family. Our normal hotel of choice was fully booked as were the majority of hotels due to various functions in the town. We booked the Chatsworth on line booking a superior room for £130.00 for the night. We arrived in the evening and went up to... more

I agree with the earlier review regarding this hotel. A lovely old building that has unfortunately seen better days. If only the owners could spend money doing up the bedrooms this grand old lady would really shine. The common areas are good but the bedrooms are very poor indeed - the hotel could never gain another star while the bedrooms... more

A one night stay at the Chatsworth Hotel was another disappointment in independently run hotels with a 3 star rating. Whilst the food was excellent - both breakfast and evening meal, this definitely warranted the 3 star rating and possibly a bit more, but the rooms were very much a disappointment. The rooms were very old, dated and shabby. We... more

Good hotel, good food, no complaints, nice building. We chose this hotel spur of the moment but ended up staying 4 days. Just a small suggestion .. need baby sitting facilities! more
