Stayed here as part of a coach trip. The staff here are very friendly and helpful. The room I stayed in was clean and comfortable and had a sea view.Room probably could have done with a bit of modernizing but didn't affect my opinion of the hotel. The food is brilliant. I had carvery dinners each night and it was... More

This hotel looks much better on the pictures. The reality is it looks older and not so comfortable when you visit it. Its location is great though. It was clean, the staff was ok but the breakfast was horrible. I don't think the price was fair to be honest.

This holiday organised by Woods Coaches of Barnsley.Excellent planning as always and a good mix of visits to other resorts in the near local areas. The Albany was well in line with our expectations. Room was well looked after, and had a good sea view. The food was excellent ,well prepared, wide variety, and if you felt hungry after wards... More

The only daisy on this festering dung heap was the delightful Lenka on reception.Everything else about this hotel is woefully poor and unpleasant , The offensive owner ,complete with golden 'pimp wagon' is reminiscent ,of a bollywood villain . I had the misfortune of witnessing this horrid little man ,in an attempt to flex his muscle, dismiss his receptionist for hugging... More

We went to the Albany Lions Hotel Eastbourne for a 5 day break with mum in law (94), her sister (85) and cousin. We had a great time in Eastbourne. The food at the hotel was excellent, liked the self service - good for those wishing to have only a small portion. Good choice and well cooked. We did have... More

Had a good linedance weekend. Hotel very clean, food plentiful and of reasonable quality, staff helpful, good location on seafront. The only bugbear? The hotel kept the central heating on the entire time! The bedroom radiator was turned off but the entire hotel was so hot that it permeated through the entire building and, of course, hot air rises and... More

The hotel was in places a little shabby, but made up for it by being very comfortable. The food was very good , the staff were exceptionally good and friendly.. For the money it was excellent , I would reccomend it to anyone.

Upon having a depressing night in Eastbourne (which is not very difficult) I decided to go on a drinking spree in some of the hotel bar's on the sea front. My first was a pint of Guinness at the big sleep and the next was a stop off at this dive 'The Albany' I walked into what could only be... More

We have stayed here on numerous occasions as part of a large social group meeting up for a weekend away by the sea. This is one of several hotels as part of the Albany group; the Lions aspect born out my the Lion sculptures outside and the motif sewn into the carpet throughout the public areas. The staff, many of whom... my overall view is that the hotel needs some care and attention to the worn and deteriorating decor, extensive attention to the fixtures and fittings that need repairing and refurbishing, and a more thorough cleaning schedule. When I mentioned it to a very efficient receptionist, I was told that they had just opened for the new season. I would have... More
