We went to the Albany Lions Hotel Eastbourne for a 5 day break with mum in law (94), her sister (85) and cousin. We had a great time in Eastbourne. The food at the hotel was excellent, liked the self service - good for those wishing to have only a small portion. Good choice and well cooked. We did have... More

Had a good linedance weekend. Hotel very clean, food plentiful and of reasonable quality, staff helpful, good location on seafront. The only bugbear? The hotel kept the central heating on the entire time! The bedroom radiator was turned off but the entire hotel was so hot that it permeated through the entire building and, of course, hot air rises and... More

The hotel was in places a little shabby, but made up for it by being very comfortable. The food was very good , the staff were exceptionally good and friendly.. For the money it was excellent , I would reccomend it to anyone.

Upon having a depressing night in Eastbourne (which is not very difficult) I decided to go on a drinking spree in some of the hotel bar's on the sea front. My first was a pint of Guinness at the big sleep and the next was a stop off at this dive 'The Albany' I walked into what could only be... More

We have stayed here on numerous occasions as part of a large social group meeting up for a weekend away by the sea. This is one of several hotels as part of the Albany group; the Lions aspect born out my the Lion sculptures outside and the motif sewn into the carpet throughout the public areas. The staff, many of whom... my overall view is that the hotel needs some care and attention to the worn and deteriorating decor, extensive attention to the fixtures and fittings that need repairing and refurbishing, and a more thorough cleaning schedule. When I mentioned it to a very efficient receptionist, I was told that they had just opened for the new season. I would have... More

Have stayed at this hotel on three occasions. Twice with Edwards Coaches from Wales and once for a solo visit. Some of the reviews seem unfair. I wouldn't return to the same hotel three times otherwise! The food at both breakfast and dinner is of a very good quality and I have always found the staff courteous and attentive. I... More

we arrived at the hotel, the receptionist was very friendly and allowed us to check in early. The hotel also provided a parking pass for us (£1). The room itself was ver small. the bathroom was tiny. the building was dated and dusty. the room was not very clean, and contrary to the expedia website there was no climate control.... More

I stayed at the hotel two weeks ago with my husband. According to the previous reviews the hotel is disgusting and awful. I feel sorry for those who had bad experience of their stay. Nevertheless I wouldn't judge it by those comments as it would not be fair. Usually people don't have time to share their experience unless they have... More

We have just returned from a two night stay, b & b, having paid an inflated walk in rate due to the Airshow, staying in room 307 (the one with the gold footstool and Jacuzzi bath they use in promotional photos on their website). We paid £260 but the same two days next week is £216. The landing smelled damp... More
