Having recommending the Cumberland to friends who organise large events following a Birthday party my wife and I had at the hotel 3 years ago, we spent last weekend at the Cumberland within a party of about 150 guests. We were relieved at the efficiency of the staff in catering for so many at one sitting on Friday and Saturday... More

Had this hotel booked for a weekend of fun and fund raising, hotel needs a little TLC but the staff work hard the rooms are tidy and the food was good. Drinks are a reasonable price for this area and even though we went at the beginning of March the overal price was excellent as there were about 140 of... More

Just attended a businesswomen's luncheon at the Cumberland. I am a fanatic about hot food and I have to congratulate the chef's on serving my meal, which was one of the last to come out, piping hot. It was delicious and I shall recommend the hotel to my friends and colleagues. The staff were attentive and even though the service... More

Having stayed at the Cumberland several times it's been nice to see that recent refurbishment has improved what was a typically Edwardian hotel that was fraying round the edges. The staff have always been helpful and pleasant and service is prompt and polite. Rooms tend to be a bit cold in the winter as there is no double glazing on... More

welwere looking forward to our holiday.we were greeted warmly, and given room key.corridoors were in need of general maintanance,as there were pieces of plaster missing. the tv in our room should have gone out with the ark as it was big, ugly, and everything was green. however we were given a new one the following day. The washbasin plug leaked and this... More

Attended a masonic ladies night here last night, hotel was brilliant, food excellent, waiting staff on the ball, but not in your face, Sharon on the bar, the jewel in the crown. Hotel management couldn't do enough to help. An excellent venue and I recommend to anyone, if you want a function, go here you can't go wrong.

Just got back from having 4 nights 3 days at the Cumberland Hotel. Absolutely incredible views over the sea. The staff were very friendly and helpful and I met some lovely people along the way. Will definitely be returning to the Cumberland Hotel hopefully next time for a bit of a longer stay.

Took my elderly mother and father for afternoon tea. We also had our children, aged 9 and 11 with us. When I phoned to enquire/book I asked if I could have 4 adult afternoon teas, and then add some plain ham and cheese sandwiches to it for the children as they are a bit fussy. They were really helpful and... More

I recently had my 30th birthday at the Cumberland hotel. The original plan was to have this party at home but at the last minute this was no longer a viable option and thankfully the Cumberland was able to fit us (about 20 people) in their Sun Lounge area, which has great views of the sea and has a very...
