We stayed overnight for a function in January. The public areas and the food are fine. However, the guest rooms are out of the 1960s and probably haven't been refurbished since then. The hotel above the first floor is in a serious need of renovation. Candlewick bedspreads, chunks out of the furniture, cold bathrooms as the heaters have been removed... More

Management/staff friendly helpfull.offered choice of food from daily menu, food always served hot and tasty.comfortable dinning room without being overcrowded.room comfortable though would have preferred a Seaview. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Our room had a nice sea view from a single window. The only minor disappointment with the room was the 3/4 bath. Entertainment was very good Phil worked very hard to keep everyone entertained . Food was average.

Have just returned from out 2nd stay at the cumberland with abacus coahes. The seafront location is fantastic, food great , cleanliness top notch, staff most helpful. Why have i only given 4 stars its the sqeaky floor boards, i dont think i would go back again until something was done to them.

We visited as a group of 12 for afternoon tea for my sisters baby shower. We were seated in the conservatory which had beautiful views of the sea front. The food was amazing. For £19.50 a head there was plenty of food and tea/ coffee. We were given a lovely selection of sandwiches and cakes with tea and coffee followed... More

Passing by we saw the board for carvery and dessert. Very friendly chef slicing the meat. Excellent selection of vegetables nicely presented. You could help yourself or the staff will help you if desired. Excellent setting some seating in a small conservatory overlooking the sea. Polite, attentive staff serving us. Really scrummy dessert! We also went downstairs to a Tea... More

I highly recommend the Sunday Carvery, Very reasonably priced. The staff were very friendly and the service was excellent. The food was excellent and you should try for yourself. There is a choice of two meats: when we went there was Roast Beef or Norfolk Turkey

Our rambling group, consisting of 20 participants, spent four days at The Cumberland in the first week of October. On arrival, we were made so welcome with coffee, tea and biscuits to be enjoyed in the lounge, and Elaine, the hotel manageress, braved the cold and rain to help us, on the road adjacent to the hotel, with parking permits...
