We had our Wedding reception here and it was perfect! The room where it was held was beautifully decorated and the staff were very well organised throughout the whole event. We had a buffet for our guests which was lovely. Our room was the Queen Victoria suite. It has been recently refurbished. The bathroom was very large and the bed... More

We went here for an afternoon tea which was bought as a gift for a 70th Birthday. When we arrived the staff were busy and told us to wait. They then set up a table right next to the entrance door and people were walking past us the whole time. The family member who had paid for this had told... More

Spent one night at this hotel, had seaview room overlooking the Eastbourne Bandstand and enjoyed watching and listening to Johnny Cash Tribute Band from our room. Comfortable room, however bed needs replacing (Room 315). Very friendly, helpful staff.

Whilst this hotel has an excellent position in the seafront, it is in need of some serious updating especially where the bedrooms are concerned. Very creaky floors and a wall light that fell off during the night meant a very poor night's sleep. The shower/bath didn't drain properly so we were left with some scummy standing water. The receptionist was... More

Whilst the public areas looked quite good. The rest of this hotel certainly needs updating. Our bedroom had paint and wallpaper peeling off round window. The taps in bath were coming away. Carpet needed a good clean. Walls needed a new coat of emulsion to cover marks. Food was basic and not properly cooked on several occasions. Staff were pleasant... More

The management kindly helped out at the last minute to accommodate thirteen people for dinner in a private dining room. The next day we used the room again for lunch after a funeral. Excellent service, food. Thank you to the Reception staff too.

Good food at all times - very good selection at breakfast and choice of menu for the evening meal. Staff extremely polite and helpful. Room clean and fresh towels. Location within a 10min walk to the town centre and of course right opposite the sea front.

I have just had my second stay at the Cumberland, Eastbourne with a group of 12. When I last visited this hotel, there were a few problems with décor because of the dreadful weather at the time , but it didn't stop me giving it a fair report, with the comfort, friendly staff, and the entertainment, plus the ideal position...
