Fantastic staff is the only good comment I can make about this hotel. Only a few rooms are of an acceptable size. My shower stopped working on day 2, and took two days before fixing. Hotel very tired. Only one lift, maximum 3 people and too small for wheelchairs also the stairs are a bit narrow. Steps and rotating door... More

Booked a long weekend at this hotel, twin room disabled facilities on the ground floor. Excellent sized room, one 'problem' though - with it being an old building one of the beds was by the window, the weather was very windy so a cold draught was blowing through the bottom of the sash windows all the time, but saying that... We were originally booked in at the Mansions but unfotunately this was over booked. We were made aware of this before we left home and was told that we would be in the Claremont. We were in room 108 (triple room) fabulous views of the pier and the sea. The staff we very friendly and helpful especially with the parking... More

I wouldn't stay here again unless it was the last hotel available which was pretty much my case. Decided to pay the extra for sea view room, but unfortunately they put in a corner room (204) which was literally the size of a long narrow hallway enough for 2 twin beds stacked in a row and enough room to walk... I booked this hotel during the Eastbourne Airborne event just for one night. The Hotel has a policy of requiring 72 hours notice of cancellation. My partner was unable to come with me due to commitments arising from the London riots, but the hotel were unwilling to refund my payment, so I stayed....but wish I had not. The 'double' room... My daughter (17) and I (52) stayed at the Claremont Lions Hotel in Eastbourne from the 4th to the 9th. We loved the interior of the hotel, especially the Dining room. The main rooms were warm and comfortable, and the atmosphere informal and friendly. Our suitcases were already in our room when we arrived which was lovely. As my daughter... More

the hotel staff were lovely and couldnt do enough for you even though appearing to be short staffed. breakfast was lovely plenty of variety. The hotel was tatty in places the corridors, electrical wiring exposed by the 3rd floor. holes in bedspreads that didnt match and a leaning broken fan in room. At the rear of the hotel the bin... The Claremont Lions hotel is situated right on the sea front directly opposite the pier, an excellent location. However, it is with regret that after that there are very few positives about the hotel. Car parking is difficult and you are provided a voucher to park in the adjacent side streets. The rooms and all the hotel building I have... More

My original review is shown below. Concurrent with my review I raised the issues with the Claremont Lions Hotel General Manager. My discussions with the General Manager have been positive and helpful and he has reviewed the issues and agreed that there are a number of learning issues to take on board . The hotel has a significant number of... More
