I was in Eastbourne for a friends bbq and chose this hotel as the Grand has to be booked for a minimum of two nights. The common parts have been refurbished and look very 'boutique' and trendy, but the rooms are decorated the same as any seaside hotel would be, lots of floral prints etc. The room was spacious but... more

We stayed here for two nights as a base for the women's pre wimbledon tennis tournament. We knew the hotel was undergoing some renovations and asked for a room that wouldn't be affected by the scaffolding. We had a side sea view room on the fourth floor with a great balcony which overlooked the band stand. The room was a... more

We booked a 2 night break at the Cavendish Hotel to relax for a few days. Having read mixed reviews on Trip Advisor we were a little sceptical. However, we really needn't have worried!! We arrived to find adequate parking at the rear of the hotel (always a bonus on the seafront!). The reception and bar area of the hotel... more

On arrival, I found that half the hotel is a building site as the hotel is being upgraded. The entrance at the front was closed and reception moved to the rear, and as there were few guests, it was somewhat disappointing to be given a dark dingy rear room with no bath. After complaining I was given a better room... more

Two nights in this hotel went very well. The connecting doors meant that I could hear my neighbour's every move, but I could easily have moved. Everything worked and it was spotless. It was the best cooked breakfast I've had for quite a while. The reception staff were very helpful. Free Wi-Fi in lounge. I didn't use the hotel restaurant... more

A colleague and I shared a twin room at the Cavendish for three nights whilst working in Eastbourne. I was very impressed with the beautiful interior decoration which was much better than the outside of the hotel hinted at. Lots of giant sized floral displays and magnificent chandeliers were a characteristic of the sumptuous decor. Our room was large and... more

I stayed in Cavendish Hotel with my girlfriend and her parents for one night 16-17 June 2007 for Father's Day. We chose the hotel after seeing the TripAdvisor ratings and reading the very good reviews. The hotel on Grand Parade is on the seafront as many other Eastbourne hotels, just a short walk from the beach and the bandstand. The... more

I got an excellent rate for two nights at the Cavendish through ebookers.com and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. I had imagined that it would be chintz city but I was wrong. The hotel rooms (mine was 207) are spacious and modern, with good tea and coffee making facilities, loads of wardrobe space and a decent... more

Like most hotels in Eastbourne, this was built by the Victorians with no regard for the car or disabled access. There is a small car park, which is a bonus, but steep steps at the front door, and steep ramps. The staff were friendly enough, and the porter carefully explained the complicated on-street parking arrangements. Our room in the newer... more

Myself and a colleague recently stayed at the Cavendish for a night. We found the hotel to be charming, the rooms were big, the staff extremely friendly and overall we had a very comfortable stay. Its a very charming hotel with lots of old nice details. more
