We have stayed at the Cavendish four times and until this week, had always had a room with a sea view. We always felt that the rooms are very dated, (I remember those light fittings from thirty years ago) but they have extremely high standards of housekeeping and are spotless. This time, we booked at short notice in the busiest... More

We booked the Cavendish a few weeks ago and was really surprised to find a 4* hotel still available during Airborne. We stayed Thursday, arrived at 10am and was very pleased to get a parking space as well as being allowed to our room, seeing as check in isn't until 3pm. The staff were great and really helpful to accommodate... More

We have stayed in this hotel in the winter and rate it highly with on-site parking, comfortable beds and hard-working staff. However, this time it was an exceptionally busy weekend. We upgraded to a sea-view room (no air conditioning but an efficient fan). Actually we would have been better in our original rear facing room as the noise! from the... More

The hotel looks lovely, the bar area is inviting and the rooms very nice (although I believe there is only air con in the Executive rooms - we didn't have it and the room was quite stuffy). However, if you wish to get the "deal" for dinner you need to prebook this as it is not automatic for hotel guests... More

I am stunned at how un child friendly this hotel is,having stayed here before and dined in the lounge/bar area copious times I am stunned that this evening just moments ago myself and my 2 very well behaved children were turned away and treated like dirt by the staff, none of which seemed to know what the other was talking about.... Room was spacious/light/airy, bed comfortable, parking at rear of hotel plenty of coffee shops, walks, main town centre only 2 minutes walk, yet hotel on sea front !, enjoy great views while having your breakfast! Lovely afternoon teas at a very reasonable price, table reserved for us in the area overlooking the sea, service slow the waiter forgot to smile. Had to keep asking for extra milk, cream, tea and coffee. However lovely setting.

A fabulous cream tea - definitely one of the best stones I have ever tasted. This would have been an excellent review but come on 'The Cavendish' - why are you serving tea in dirty cups (looked like egg stuck on it) and polish your teapots! You need to train your waiting staff (young as they are) to double check... More

First impressions of this establishment are extremely impressive, especially if viewed from the beach side of the road.It stands tall and looks quite grand. Staff were faultless, they were all very professional and extremely happy to please. So on check in we thought 'what a great place' Unfortunately once in the room which was big and had high ceilings we were amazed that...
