I always make a point to review hotels in context to what they are. The Queens Hotel should be understood to be part of the Leisureplex Hotels chain, and a recipient of customers from the value for money Alfa Coach Holidays. I therefore don’t set an excessively high standard for these hotels as they are not in the premier bracket.... More

We stayed at the Queens as part of a coach holiday in October. The hotel far exceeded our expectations. The restaurant was busy, due to lots of coach parties but staff were brilliant and the food good with plenty of choice for each meal. The location of the hotel couldn't be bettered, opposite the pier. Our room was large and... More

Friendly staff, wonderful location, comfortable lounges and bar, entertainment every night, comfortable beds, - you wouldn't think you'd need anything else. One word of warning, however. Don't order a bottle of wine until you've bought a small glass to try. The first two glasses I bought were almost undrinkable - the third just about acceptable. To be fair these were... More

Booked in for a last minute work trip.I think I was the only guest staying there under 70 & not on a coach trip. That said the staff were friendly and welcoming and got my own table and seen to quickly at breakfast. It didn't try the bar as the bingo and turn forced me to venture out and find... More

Clean hotel with some pleasant and hard working staff, unfortunately spoilt by bad attitude from others. One waitress, Dasa appeared stressed and was rude to guests. The receptionist/manager Sian(?) was unhelpful and brusque and the restaurant manager was completely clueless and rude. They seem to be used to dealing with coach parties and are unable to give anyone any individual... More

For a 2 star rated hotel the staff and service are excellent. The hotel is old and possibly needs a bit more TLC but when you are walking around the Art Deco reception and dinning rooms you fee like you are in some high class hotel. Car parking is free to hotel guest. £42 per night for a single occupancy... More
