I was on a trip with my elderly mother to Eastbourne and was really looking forward to spending some quality time with her. Eastbourne is a lovely place and the shops are great, apart from the "Queen's Hotel" oh my god! What rude waiting staff in the restaurant. Whatever you say, make sure it is not “excuse me” or you... stayed for 3 nights between xmas & new year, weather was freezing outside but the hotel was really warm to stay in. Reception staff were very vague and didn't show much interest when faced with queries. Waiting staff in the dining rooms were excellent and did their utmost to fullfil our requirements and the food was quite good. Bar staff were... More

Yes, this is a hotel which caters for coach parties of people of a certain age. Having got that fact clear, we stayed as individuals, with two friends, and had a very good time. The staff are very friendly, we had a lovely big room, which was clean and comfortable, with tea and coffee making facilities. The bar and lounge... More

We booked for bed and breakfast and had to specify the time we were allowed to eat breakfast.Did'nt find the staff very helpful.Rooms were very dated but seemed to be reasonably clean. This hotel caters mainly for coach parties and is very regimented for mealtimes and is not suitable for people who want personal service.

I always make a point to review hotels in context to what they are. The Queens Hotel should be understood to be part of the Leisureplex Hotels chain, and a recipient of customers from the value for money Alfa Coach Holidays. I therefore don’t set an excessively high standard for these hotels as they are not in the premier bracket.... More

We stayed at the Queens as part of a coach holiday in October. The hotel far exceeded our expectations. The restaurant was busy, due to lots of coach parties but staff were brilliant and the food good with plenty of choice for each meal. The location of the hotel couldn't be bettered, opposite the pier. Our room was large and... More

Friendly staff, wonderful location, comfortable lounges and bar, entertainment every night, comfortable beds, - you wouldn't think you'd need anything else. One word of warning, however. Don't order a bottle of wine until you've bought a small glass to try. The first two glasses I bought were almost undrinkable - the third just about acceptable. To be fair these were... More
