I stayed in Room 109 last week. I only had 2 reasonably warm showers on Thursday others were tepid or cold. I was told that my room had been like that for over 20 years [Victorian plumbing was the problem] I was speechless when I heard that. Perhaps the owner should be told we are living in the 21st century... More

Have just returned from staying at this hotel with Grand UK Holidays for five days. This is opposite sea front, band stand, near pier and shops. We had NO HOT WATER on first day and NO HEATING in hotel on arrival. Although given fan heaters for each room. Which is NOT acceptable. Hot Water was available if you got up... More

I stayed here last night. The first hint that I got that the place needed some attention was the carpeted walls in the lift that was hanging off. It got worse. The room I stayed in was very shabby and outdated. There was graffiti on the wall. The three course meal in the restaurant was the worst I'd ever tasted.... More

Stayed for the weekend for an Alpha weekend away, loved the weekend but the hotel is in desperate need of some investment. I was a bit annoyed also that we could not use the TV for most if the weekend as the remote control only had one battery. We asked for another battery but this took nearly a day to... More

Located just five minutes walk from the beach, which is a little too sandy for my liking, the Mansion (Lions) was the first time my partner and I have ever stayed in a hotel. We had visited another hotel in Eastbourne previously, but we didn't end up staying there as we found poo in our kettle, so this was technically... More

We have just returned home from our annual dance weekend at the Mansion Lions Hotel. The accomodation and helpfulness of the staff was superb and the food was terrific, we will certainly return. This is an older style hotel full of character much nicer than the commercial standard box type, well worth a visit.

We booked and then read the reviews and thought arrrggghhh! Nonetheless, I was pleasantly surprised. We had hot water and some heat, although I still don't understand why the radiators were not set to come on in the chilly morning! And I do appreciate that some people didn't have heat. Food/tea was plentiful and okay for the 'turkey and tinsel'... More

I have just come back from a Turkey and Tinsel, I think kid's could have put on better entertainment, now for the hotel very old and dingey, no hot water or central heating, had to beg for a hair drier, my kettle was filthy looked like tea or coffee had been made in it, empty milk cartons and coffee things...
