Travelled on a bowls tour with over 100 people for a 4 night stay. Single room allocated had a upvc window with a bent strut that meant the closed it got to closing was a 3" gap! Second room given (319) was ok. Lots of minor things wrong all the time, however. Complimentary biscuits were a month out of date.... More

I arrived at this hotel on friday8th of May at somewhat 22.30hrs for a trade union conference for 2nights which includes breakfast. Was greeeted by a tired looking chap in reception who seems overwhelmed by the enquiry from would-be stayers for the night. After what seems like an eternity he was able to ask the couple to take a seat... More

On first arrival hotel seemed nice but very outdated with Christmas decorations in places still left up above the main door. The women on the reception couldn't be bothered to get off her backside and sat at the desk which is about 2ft away from the main reception desk. Went up to the room on 4th floor that we had... I stayed in Room 109 last week. I only had 2 reasonably warm showers on Thursday others were tepid or cold. I was told that my room had been like that for over 20 years [Victorian plumbing was the problem] I was speechless when I heard that. Perhaps the owner should be told we are living in the 21st century... More

Have just returned from staying at this hotel with Grand UK Holidays for five days. This is opposite sea front, band stand, near pier and shops. We had NO HOT WATER on first day and NO HEATING in hotel on arrival. Although given fan heaters for each room. Which is NOT acceptable. Hot Water was available if you got up... More

I stayed here last night. The first hint that I got that the place needed some attention was the carpeted walls in the lift that was hanging off. It got worse. The room I stayed in was very shabby and outdated. There was graffiti on the wall. The three course meal in the restaurant was the worst I'd ever tasted.... More

Stayed for the weekend for an Alpha weekend away, loved the weekend but the hotel is in desperate need of some investment. I was a bit annoyed also that we could not use the TV for most if the weekend as the remote control only had one battery. We asked for another battery but this took nearly a day to... More

We have just returned home from our annual dance weekend at the Mansion Lions Hotel. The accomodation and helpfulness of the staff was superb and the food was terrific, we will certainly return. This is an older style hotel full of character much nicer than the commercial standard box type, well worth a visit.
