My husband and I love the Royal, we have just got back from another great weekend. We have the same room each time as the views are wonderful and the room is perfect. Eddy is a brilliant host, always offers to help with the luggage and always brings us a nice pot of tea to the room when we arrive.... More

After the last visit at the Royal, the wonderful hospitality and the welcome Eddy and Lynn gave to us. We decided to rebook again for a week, with same room( top floor) as last time. Again I could not fault Eddy and Lynn, made us most welcome and were surprised with the renovations made to the hotel. The place was spotless... More

We stayed at Royal for a weekend. Positives: good, seafront location and clean room. There is a busy road right in front of the hotel and the windows don't offer much insulation from the traffic noise, it lasted late in the night, fortunately we had our stoppers. The 'free WiFi' is free for emails or short messages, there is a... More

Heard the one about the guest who books a vegetarian hotel and then demands ham for breakfast? Hold the front page! Vegetarian Restaurant Fails to Serve Meat. What was it exactly about the description ‘English Breakfast Not Served / Vegetarian Kitchen’ that you didn’t understand? Did you even glance at our website before booking? If you had, you would have... More

We have just spent another wonderful night at the Royal, the only place we stay in Eastbourne. Directly on the seafront, it is in an ideal location, perfect for late night strolls on the beach under the stars, and Eddy and Linda are brilliant hosts - and look out for a welcome from Boris! The rooms are spotless, comfy and... More

Happened upon this perfect Guest house after arriving in Eastbourne on speck, with no previous knowledge or expectations (always a little worrying). However this was a spottlessly clean and welcoming place. Breakfast was different from most hotels as no Full English was offered. However an excellent home made, freshly prepared organic buffet was offered which fitted the bill perfectly. Actually... More

Eddy is the perfect host, he is always ready to give you a voucher for your car which saves you from having to pay for a ticket. The Royal is always spotless clean on entering. Lynda and Eddie were very welcoming and made the 3 night stay with my sister and elderly mother very comfortable. We shared the Travis Suite which was ideal, having 2 bedrooms and a separate lounge. Breakfasts were just sublime with the homemade preserves, bread, yogurt, muesli etc. Just what we liked! We hope to be back again next year.

We had to book a hotel at short notice due to a family member who had been taken ill on holiday in Eastbourne and due to having the dog needed to be dog friendly. From booking to check out we received 1st class service, we can not fault Eddie or his wife on the welcome into their home. We stopped... More

A perfect last minute break, how lucky were we that they had a room left and it had a brilliant view. A very clean, well kept and customer focused hotel. I was concerned the breakfast was vegetarian, but with home made Muesli, fruit salad and Bread, orange juice squeezed to order plus yoghurt, cereal and more it certainly beats most... More
