We paid £99 each for a weekend break, this included travel, BB&E plus a gala dinner on the Saturday and 4 free dinks the same evening, there was also free coffee after your evening meal in the snack bar. We were at the back of the hotel, so no sea view, which you can upgrade to, but the room was... More

We have just returned from a Shearings, 3 day bed, breakfast and evening meal self drive break at the Burlington Hotel. We could not fault the hotel in any way, the room was spacious and beds comfortable. We didn't pay for an upgrade so it looked over the car park which didn't bother us. Meals are excellent and entertainment is... More

I hereby give my reasons to stay away! Advertised as a Party Weekend/Valentine Weekend with Gala Dinner. Single room - (138) small, facing out onto the car park, TV, that old should been thrown 20 years ago. Channels didn't work. Bathroom small, no heating, MOULD in the shower, as this is a health hazard it should be reported to Health/Safety... More

I have read with interest the review from Lena H. I am sorry to read that more of an effort was not made by my team to rectify your complaint regarding the temperature of your meals this will be addressed. That said all the menus have a mixed and varied selection of both fresh and frozen items. This is a... More

My husband and I went to Burlington for the third time in 6 years, it was Valentines weekend and also my husbands birthday so we had a double celebration. On previous years we have had a nice sea view and room and this was what I expected, however the room must have been for a single person as it was... More

My friends and I have just returned from a 5 day holiday at the Burlington Hotel in Eastbourne. This is a Shearings Hotel which is situated right opposite the pier. Town centre is only a short walk around the corner. On our arrival there had been a mix up with our rooms but this was immediately sorted out and the... More

We stayed for four nights as part of a Shearings' holiday deal. The hotel looks superb, right on the seafront near the pier. Luggage handled for us, delivered to the room. Ah, the room! Good points - very clean, plenty of hot water, clean & comfortable bedding. Rather on the small side but there was space to move round without... More

Was looking forward to our stay at the Burlington - although it was to be only one night. The building looked amazing in the photos and it was right on the seafront near the pier. When we entered the hotel there was an immediate feeling of needing updating. We were given a room on the 4th floor - looked OK... More

Thank you sarahys, I was sorry to read you found your one night stay did not meet with expectations. I am pleased alternative accommodation was found for you. Sea view rooms do have to be booked at the time of booing and they do come with a surcharge. Living in seaside resort seagulls can pose a problem however the hotel... More

Have to say that this type of hotel is why people love staying in the likes of Ibis/Premier Inn etc. At least with them you know what you're getting! We booked a "Classic Double" room through booking.com - unfortunatelly, the room didn't actually match (or come close to) any pictures on the booking.com website ... or the hotels own website... Thank youmancub62 for a review of a recent one night stay. I read with interest your comments regarding the room. Whilst the room allocated is one of our older bed stock this is reflected in the price, on checking you were allocated a sea view room at no extra charge this would usually command an extra charge of £7.per person...
