It's Shearings so I would expect nothing less. Imposing building on the seafront. Room was at the rear of the building but we can't all have a sea view can we? Room was comfortable, clean and tidy. Bathroom was clean with a bath and a shower. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Limited choice of food in the evening but would... More

We stayed here on 4 night package last week. Our room was dingy but clean and comfortable. I would definitely recommend a room upgrade. The food was excellent and good choices, plus the entertainment was most enjoyable - top marks to Mark Snow, the compere etc... The lifts were small and claustrophobic so would suggest a lower floor. Our only... More

Thanks go to September sandy for posting on line a review of a recent stay. Sorry your where inconvenienced by the fire alarm. All our fire escapes are inspected and maintained weekly. We take fire safety extremely seriously at the hotel, with regular staff training and mock evacuations. I am sorry we did not get the opportunity to explain in... More

Stayed at hotel with friend as part of walking weekend. Good availability of single rooms. The Shearings half board package is good value especially as very little is added to cost if staying Sunday night. The hotel is in reasonable order especially as it is usually nearly full and so is well used. Evidence of recent refurbishment of corridors and... More

This is a lovely grand old Edwardian hotel overlooking the pier and seafront. We had a lovely double room with ensuite. The view and sunrises were amazing. The breakfasts and evening meals were tasty, ample and varied, as well as well-presented considering the vast numbers they were catering for. The staff were very friendly and cannot do enough for you.... More

Visiting from the USA we checked into the Burlington on 22-9-14 and were warmly greeted by the front desk. Our room was #202, I think, a little tired, but comfortable and nice size. We went down for breakfast and at the entrance to the dining room looked and waited for the Maitre De as the front desk told us to... More

Thank You Tom M. Please let me start by offering my sincerest apologies for any upset caused by our head waiter during your short stay. The points made are being looked into. I am pleased to read that you did encounter other members of my fantastic team and you were happy with the service they provided. Thank you once again... More

Thank you Patricia D for your review, yes it has been a bit stuffy, but to be fair I think a lot of places are enjoying the late Indian Summer. I was surprised you were not offered a fan for your room as this is our normal policy if anyone states their room is a little warm. Thanks for the... More

What a tired looking little room. Passing other rooms where cleaners were , it seemed some of the bigger rooms had been given a facelift ! (250 and 235 needed looking at too. )Food and staff really good .

Thanks Sue D for leaving a review. Sorry to read you had one of our older bed stock, as I have stated in many replies we are upgrading rooms each year, and as you witnessed for yourself the hotel does have many newly redecorated rooms. Maybe when you book again make enquires in to the newer rooms available. That said... More

I spent a week at the Burlington recently. The accommodation was good and clean and the food tasty and varied. The staff were friendly and helpful to such an extent that one of the waiters, Bruno Pestena ran to my assistance at breakfast time when i was choking on a misdirected piece of food. His timely help saved me from... More
