In a town littered with either mediocre or very expensive hotels, what a delight to find one run by an extremely helpful, friendly and amusing staff. Our room was large and bright with a huge double bed covered in a fluffy duvet and soft pillows. The breakfast was excellent and cooked to order; the coffee was also excellent - a... more

This hotel is great value with excellent service from the owners. I stayed there with my fiance and 10 year old son over the May bank holiday and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Eastbourne, although not as well catered for in terms of entertainment as its neighbour Brighton, has a little more class and is very clean and tidy. Our room... more

I stayed with my mom on a mother-daughter trip at the da Vinci for two nights last week when we visited Eastbourne, and it was a good experience. My mom isn't as keen on modern decor, but I really liked the simplicity of the stark colours against white in the rooms. We could see the sea from our room if... more

We were left in limbo as we booked the hotel - asked for a confiermation and never got one. We telephoned to ask for the confirmation and still never got one. We decided not to take the risk and stayed at a lovely hotel called The Guesthouse East (The Running Inn) and it was lovely. Upon getitng home we did... more

As the owner of the da Vinci, I have spoken at some length with staff regarding this booking and also spoken with the reviewers regarding the confirmation. The booking was taken by phone on the 19th April and confirmed verbally at the time. The booking was also confirmed by email since our booking system is sophisticated enough to do this...

Stayed here for a weekend at the end of March and couldn't have been happier with the accommodation and service. Echoing the other reviews, we found that Paul and Frank were welcoming, and fantastically helpful with recommendations of what to do and where to eat in the area. The room, with a lovely Mark Rothko theme, felt very contemporary. There... more

This is exactly the type of hotel I want to stay in but never dream I'd find. The decor is modern in a Grade 2 listed building: bright, airy and interesting. Chandaliers, uncluttered windows, leather dining chairs ,plain coloured walls, exhibition of local artists work all work wonderfully together to produce an inspiring, tasteful and relaxing retreat. Everything on my... more

I had never been to Eastbourne before and was expecting the stereotypical pensioners' colony, but the Da Vinci Hotel was the first of many pleasant surprises. From the outside, it resembles most other small seafront hotels in Eastbourne, but it's refreshingly modern inside. Spotless, spacious and welcoming. I suspect that this is a relatively new business and that the owners... more
