4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2013 NEW

we stayed here for a few nights recently, the room was huge with a great view over the square and the sea. The public rooms double up as a gallery so everywhere has something interesting to look at. The Breakfast team were very accommodating and friendly and the breakfast was good - not sure about the sausages though. Would definitely... More

The da Vinci is great! Spotless, quiet and very welcoming. The cooked breakfast was delicious. OK, there was just one little niggle - no support handle to get out of the bath, although apparently they have them in some rooms. If you need one I'd check first. But this was more than compensated for by the very relaxing stay. Adnan,... More

I have a real soft spot for the Da Vinci and after four stays I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else in Eastbourne. Yes, there are little superficial niggles that might have some people complaining...a curtain hook missing here and there, chipped paintwork or window panes that rattle when it's breezy. But everything else about the hotel more than makes up for... More

An excellent choice for anyone staying in Eastbourne. Check in was very welcoming and location central. The hotel has had an upgrade and was great value for money. The rooms were of good standard and spotless. Sadly we did not have time to sample the full breakfast as we had an early getaway. Only comment is the late start to serving... More

I choose this hotel after reading very good reviews and my price tag criteria of £70 for a double room. First impression was of a nice boutique hotel with pleasant decor and a nice touch an exhibition of images local photographers. Although arriving at 15:00 our room was not ready and a 20 minute wait (with a complimentary pot of... More

The hotel is situated just off the promenade and is in easy reach of the railway station in about 10 minutes walking time. It's not a massive hotel and the staff are very polite and welcoming. The decor is simple and effective and the room I had was a comfortable size for a single room with all the expected sundries... More

My wife and I made a short visit to see family at the beginning of May. We were welcomed on a Friday evening by the opening ceremony of an exhibition of local photography hosted by the hotel. Despite this there was still a charming and friendly welcome, including two glasses of champagne from the event! My point is that there... More

I stayed at Da Vinci last year after walking the Seven Sister's during the day. Loved the hotel and the staff were so friendly we sat drinking with them in the evening. The rooms were decorated very well although needed a bit of a spruce in places, although that has all been done according to Facebook. Lovely stay, highly recommend.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
The da Vinci is ideally situated in Howard Square just off the sea front and just around the corner from the Devonshire Theatre, the Congress Theatre, the Winter Gardens, The Birley Centre and Eastbourne's new arts centre. We are a short walk to the town's shops and a lot of excellent restaurants which we are happy to recommend. The da Vinci has 20 en-suite rooms which each feature a well known (and not so well known) artist. The rooms have all been refurbished and redecorated to a very high standard and each of the rooms is unique so that no two rooms are the same. On the ground floor is the hotel art gallery featuring original art work by local professional artists as well as a resident's lounge (with full licensed facilities), two breakfast rooms and a conference room (which you can hire). ... more   less
