Just had a couple of days at the hotel. It is a nice hotel with clean rooms and good decor. We were up on the 3rd floor and were surprised that there was no lift as the stairs were quite steep. If you go for a sea view, it is well worth it as the sash windows are virtually floor... more

Having viewed their website and read the various reviews and comments I was looking forward to staying at this hotel which portrayed itself as being unique and one of it's kind in Eastbourne, both of which they do achieve. As Osaka is listed as a suite and is described to have a "private lounge area" I was expecting a room... more

we were looking forward to a meal at the Waterside, having booked over a week in advance I was suprised to get the worse table in the house, right at the back next to the kitchen with a view of the coffee machine and cutlery drawer. Everytime the waiting staff went past our table reverbrated. The food was ok, but... more

We headed down to the south coast without having any accommodation booked & first stopped in Bright which was fully booked so we quickly found an internet cafe & jumped on lastminute.com to find a deal in a nearby town. We found the Waterside Hotel had a seaview suite for 2 nights for 280gbp which looked like a really great... more

The Waterside designates itself a boutique hotel, and charges hefty prices, yet it only has a 3-star rating. This sums up my experience: overpriced and a little pretentious. Had it cost a more reasonable amount I would have been satisfied, but when paying £300+ a night, something very special is expected and The Waterside does not deliver anything particularly special.... more

Upon arrival I found the staff to be fairly welcoming and helpful. We were shown to our room which was pleasant enough but didn't stand up to the reviews we had read. The evening meal was terrible, portions small, overpriced and the staff were rude, incompetent, leaning over me to clear plates whilst I was still eating. I was served... more

Based on reviews I'd read beforehand, I had hoped to stay in the Osaka room. It was booked up so I went for the Aqua room instead. I was most interested in the basement rooms because of the bathrooms they boasted. Although the Aqua room was relatively small, the bathroom was a brilliant size with a huge wall mirror, double... more

We picked the Waterside after trawling TripAdvisor for a hotel that offered modern rooms with special bathrooms. Too many hotels seem to think that they can simply decorate their bedrooms in trendy colours, install a power-shower, and then charge a small fortune! The Waterside seem to have thought about the small touches in their rooms, and some have either Jacuzzi,... more

Oh Dear !!! - My partner booked this hotel for a birthday treat and on arrival all was well - pleasant welcome and a clean spacious room on the top floor with a stunning view of Eastbourne seafront and a parking voucher (after I enquired) to park on the road outside the hotel. However as it became late afternoon and... more

Booked this hotel through Last Minute.com. This was a superb hotel. It was to celebrate my husband's birthday. we had a great time. We had a sea view room which was breath taking. Food in the hotel was excellent. Staff very friendly and very helpful. We will highly recommend this hotel to all our friends. The only disappointment was it... more
