This hotel was a very good experience. The room was up to date and modern but a bit small. I asked for a king size bed and instead got two doubles put together. No worries here at all . The noise level was excellent comparing to other hotels where every step counts. The staff in general was friendly and welcoming... More

Arrived in the middle of the night and found myself in the illustrious company of a few other people that were simply overbooked. No rooms available, although I had booked way in advance and had advised them of late arrival. They put me on a small stretcher bed in a meeting room without any facilities but with motion-detection lights that... More

After staying in the Scandic hotel, Bergen, we were a bit wary about Stavenger. But it turned out ok. The hotel is newish and modern. It was clean and comfortable. The service in the restaurant was excellent. Mostly due to the first head waiter, for the night shift, Michael. He went out of his way to organise vegetarian meals for... More

Arrived 23:00 on 1/4 with an Expedia booking guaranteeing the room for late arrival to find I was one of 5 people who were overbooked and ended up on camp beds in conference rooms. Got very little sleep mainly due to the movement-activated very bright room lights. According to the barman this isn't uncommon. All I was offered as compensation... More

I stayed there for a month on business due to its proximity to the business park. The staff were pleasant and always helpful. Food at the restaurant was of good quality, but a limited menu available. I had to extend my stay by a few days, but the hotel was fully booked. However, I was kept informed by the Assistant... More

I stayed here due to it's close proximity of the "Falck" offshore survival training school. It's a very clean hotel typical of Norway's culture. Making this survey we have to remember that nothing in Scandinavia is cheap and we should not fault them for that. My room compared to the US standard was quite small but of normal size for... More

Been a while since I've travelled and after 6 hours travelling was very tired so the warm welcome I received at the hotel was very welcome, a nice new modern look to the hotel near the business district food was very good and tasty, beer expensive but then again it is in Norway

I travel through business all over Europe and have to be honest, you get more respect in cheap chain hotels than here! entering the hotel, receptionist just stares at you, no welcoming manner or attitude! check-in was poor, although the company has booked the room, insisted on having a credit card and refused to give me the room! never had... I stayed at this hotel frequently throughout 2013. The hotel is fantastically located for those working in the Forus area. If you wish to travel to the center of Stavanger then it will take approximately 30 minutes during rush hour and around 15 minutes in the evening. The hotel rooms are basic but clean. There is no bath but there... More

I've been traveling a good deal with work and have stayed in a few European hotels. I now find it astonishing that Europeans call Americans rude. I've seen things in Europe personally and on a daily basis that says the opposite. Europeans are severely rude, lack manners and any form of human respect. This hotel seemed like a nice refuge... Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Welcome to Scandic Stavanger Forus! The construction of the new hotel Scandic Stavanger Forus in Norway's oil capital is well on its way, and is expected to be finalised in July 2011. The hotel will be situated in a unique setting right in the centre of the business area in Forus with closeness to public transport, exciting shopping as well as restaurants and cafes. It takes no more than 10 minutes from Stavanger International Airport Sola and 10 minutes from the city centre of Stavanger to the new Scandic hotel. Holding your conference at Scandic Stavanger Forus is a smart choice. At Scandic, we offer energy boosts in the form of exciting flavour combinations as part of our morning, lunch and afternoon buffets, composed by the famous chef Jamie Oliver. Other energy boosts include flexible breaks and effective technology – and no exception at Scandic Stavanger Forus. The hotel will be a large and modern conference hotel with group rooms, boardrooms, auditoriums and attractive communal areas. We offer conference packages for groups of up to 600 people in theatre seating. All our high quality meeting rooms are well ventilated and come equipped with the latest technology – including wireless internet access, a wireless hearing loop on request, a projector and other audiovisual equipment. What’s more, our aim is for all the equipment to be extremely user-friendly. It should be easy to have a meeting at Scandic. That’s why we have put together all the essentials for your meeting or conference and bundled them into a meeting package. This allows you to easily calculate what the meeting or conference will cost. Because you know what you’re getting from us, you can focus on preparing the content of the meeting. It also makes booking simpler, since you just need to give us the number of participants and any special requirements. The meeting package is available for meetings and conferences for ten or more people. ... more   less
