This hotel was only booked as a pitstop for a long drive from Geiranger to Ullensvang. But after staying here, i must highly recommend it for future travellers who want to see the natural beauty of Norway and the Sog ne fjord region. The drive from Geiranger to Marifjora was full of scenic snow covered mountains even in July. The... More

This place is super charming and authentic. The expression "hotel de charme" was invented for that hotel. It's very tastefully arranged in Norwegian country style. It's warm and welcoming. The restaurant is very good. And the best is the service : very professional, very kind. We had an issue with our reservation and it was very well compensated. I had... More

The Torvis is a charming hotel with excellent service from its family operators and their staff. The location is beautiful facing a quiet section of fjord. The location is ideal for visits to a Stave Church, to the Glacier Museum, to the Jostedalen Glacier and to excursions on the Sognefjord. The food is good, The hotel seems to be full... More

Just back from my fourth visit at the exquisite Tørvis hotel. It´s such a beautiful and serene place, the service is excellent and very friendly, they really manage to make you feel welcome and taken care of. I love the wooden floors instead of carpets in the rooms, the lovely beds and duvets, not to mention the view you wake... More

My family enjoyed 2 nights at the Torvis Hotel as we needed a place close by the glaciers where we had booked a kayak/glacier walk. As we all know, there’s no overabundance of accommodation choices in fjords area; typically just one or maybe two hotels in each village. So finding and then choosing the Torvis Hotel was really sort of... More

After spending ten days in Norway this was (by far) the best hotel I visited. It gave me a very homely feeling. The staff is really lovely. The really know the meaning of 'service'. This hotel is managed with a personal touch that really feels genuine and comfortable. The room I had was nice, the bathroom is good. Though you won't... More

The hotel is beautiful, decked out in what looked like antiques and with lots of lounge areas to get some peace and quiet. The room was lovely, with a spacious bathroom and it was very clean and well-maintained. We had a lovely balcony where we watched the sun go down. We received some great advice about where to hike and... More

The Torvis Hotel is a superb mix of classic European hunting lodge decor in the common rooms--complete with books, fireplace and dining hall, and even a stuffed bear--and the ultra-modern 37 guest rooms with full-height window views of the Lustrafjord. Among their many features, the rooms have excellent heating and cooling systems which keep the room temperatures quietly constant to... More

The Torvis is truly a gem in the fjords: beautiful, gracious, and full of enchantments ranging from the personal family-run service to the exquisite cuisine and spectacular setting. We had an amazing stay for a group of 34 for a special birthday event. We pored over on-line reviews and finally chose Marifjora and Torvis for its location and proximity to... More
