After a mammoth 19 hour drive via Trollstigen and the Atlantic Road, my wife and I finally arrived at the hotel just after 12am in the morning of Wednesday 28 May 2014. We parked down by the waterside behind the hotel in one of the pay and display bays. Parking is free from 6pm to 9am so we didn't have... More

we were booked in to the Hotel Astoria. It smelled very strongly of fried food, and to our discreet pleasure it had muddled our booking and sent us to try the Kristiansund hotel - the closest. The Kristiansund was much nicer. Got us organised very quickly into two delightful rooms overlooking the sound itself. Breakfast next day was a typical... More

I have stayed in 4 of Kristiansund's hotels in the last 7 years. I have stayed in one - once; another (the biggest - once); another big one - twice; and the Hotel Kristiansund about 8 times! That says it all. It may not be the most plush, it may not be the one with the best breakfast, but it... More

Very small single rooms, I have never seen hotel room smaller. Living area is about 7m2, although it is very clean, noise resistance is good and WiFi included already in the price. Breakfast is average Scandinavian: eggs, ham, yogurts, tea, coffee, juices, cheese, sausages. Price per single room is about 700 krones which is cheap in Norway. Free coffee and snacks... More

Good location by the river. Room was big and with a flat screen. It was nice but a little out-dated. Supposely with a great view, that we could not see since there was a big boat right outside the window and the boat worked all night. The bathroom was clean but had a funny smell and the flush was not... More

Stayed here August 2011 with colleagues for business on an overnighter. Hotel was friendly, check in was fast and pleasant. The staff seemd happy and able to answer all our questions. We had a very nice Norweigian buffet immediately which was varied and of a good standard. Especially the pudding, which was excellent. The rooms ( review of a single... More

This is a small family-run hotel facing the main water route of the city where the ferryboat passes til midnight. Nice view on the water & moutainside. The room is very small, old fashioned and a bit used. The wardrobe is clearly a second-hand stuff and looks odd. Based on our Rainbow hotel experiences, it seems to be the standard... More
