This is merely an OK hotel. The view is outstanding, and I think you have the best view of all the hotels in Geiranger. The staff members are excellent and helpful. The beds are not good. I was in agony after 5 nights there. I am also very happily married, but the bed is not a double bed, but rather... more

We loved this hotel. As all the other reviews have stated it has magnificent views over the geirangerfjord. Being on a budget in expensive Norway we opted for a room without a fjord view (I think the majority of the rooms all have a view) and it probably is worth paying the little bit extra, however the breakfast area offers... more

The Grande Fjord is an amazing hotel. Technically, it may not really be in Geiranger (just outside of town), but it's a great place to stay in Geiranger. First, the view is amazing. Unlike the other hotels in Geiranger, I'm pretty sure that every room in this hotel has a beautiful fjord view. I'm also pretty sure that every room... more

We arrived on the Trollstigen bus from Åndalsnes right on time (as normal, in Norway) at 8:30 pm, local time. You have to ask the bus driver to let you off here, otherwise it's a long 2-km. walk uphill from town, which you probably wouldn't want to try even without your luggage. We four (using two rooms) were the only... more

This hotel was great. We stayed for two nights during a road trip of Norway. Our room was on the 4th floor and had an outstanding view of the fjord. The bed was very comfortable, the balcony was spacious and had two chairs, the bathroom was spotless. The front desk staff were very helpful and pleasant. The breakfast that was... more

My wife and I stayed one night during an auto tour of the Norwegian fjords and can highly recommend it. The hotel is about 2KM outside of Geiranger, and is very quiet, whereas other hotels are directly in the town (which is admittedly very small). The hotel is built on a hillside overlooking the Geirangerfjord, with absolutely incredible views. Most... more

We stayed just for one night in August, i think we stayed just as the Norwegian summer holidays were over as the hotel seemed quite quiet. We had a room with a balcony, which meant that late afternoon we could sit out and watch the ferries go back and forth, the cruise ships leave for the evening and children messing... more

While Geiranger is a relatively small town, the influx of cruise ships make it much livelier than other towns of its size. The Grand Fjord Hotell is about 2 miles along the fjord from the town itself, which is a good thing when the town saturates with cruise shippers. The hotel is fairly new, helping the rooms be clean and... more

there are few hotels in Geiranger, all pricey. This one afforded for 980 NOK the finest views imaginable, with fjord vistas and a balcony. It is very quiet. It is clear the place was construced on a tight budget, but the overall effect is aesthetic. The dinner buffet is copious but not really good value in this very expensive country... more
