It's true! Having been travelling for a little while, this felt like coming home. The rooms are gorgeous. You get an equipped kitchenette, a private ensuite (with hair drier), a comfortable bed and eclectic, quirky, cute furnishings and decorations, including some really good art work by the way. The hosts are just lovely and welcoming. I followed up on the... More

We recently stayed for four nights at Skuteviken Guesthouse and can thoroughly recommend it to anyone looking for something different to the usual run of the mill city hotels. The guest house is ten minutes walk from the last stop of the Airport Bus (just past Bryggen) and set in an historic area of Bergen with many almost New England... More

We stayed here for 3 nights and had a great time in bergen. Solveig was excellent when we arrived and very enthusiastic on us trying the local Norwegian dishes etc and gave good advice on the local attractions. The apartment was great and had very good internet, It would be nice if they provided some small things like tea/coffee. I... More

Skuteviken is a charming, old, wooden, ex-fishing hamlet on a bay just 15 minutes' walk from the centre of Bergen and its restaurants, shops and attractions. It is a delightful corner of what is now Greater Bergen, but none the worse for all that. There is a supermarket about ten minutes' walk away. The grounds of Bergen Fortress are on... More

Skuteviken Guesthouse is beautiful and cosy, located in the heart of a historic Bergen neighborhood, only fifteen minutes' walk to the Bryggen area and the center of town. A hundred year old house that is perfectly maintained and updated, the guesthouse offers furnished suites (five in all) as economical alternatives to expensive Bergen hotels. Owners Solveig and Eivind Rongved and... More

Located on an attractive cobblestone street in a very pretty neighborhood (it's worth wandering around and exploring all the little nearby streets). The guesthouse is a tad bit away from the main area but if you don't mind walking, it's a lovely alternative to the main hotels. We often stay at self-catering places so we're used to little contact with... More

We loved this place. We had the attic apartment with gorgeous view. It was well located easy to reach all places of interest but in a quiet cobbled street. We were not expecting an apartment but this is what it is as there is little contact with the owners except at arrival. Having given us useful info we did not... More

Lovely little guesthouse just behind the hanseatic warehouses at Bryggen and Bergenhus fortress (where strangely enough Tom Jones was playing the night we stayed ... when he's not there, you can take a shortcut through the fortress grounds). Easy walking distance from the main town, in one of the pretty cobbled streets of the old town. It's worth taking time... More

Whilst the living room/kitchenette was comfortable and the bathroom plush and modern, the main desire in booking somewhere to sleep is to actually sleep! What I couldn't believe, however, was that the bedroom didn't have any curtains! Given that we were staying in July when Norway doesn't really get dark, blackout blinds or thick curtains aren't a luxury but a... More

Yes this is a great way to save money in very expensive town and the history of the house and the surrounding area is super therefore it is well worth considering however there were some things you may find annoying. There are two routes, the owners route which is the shortest but over hilly cobbled streets which was a pain... More
