To begin there are two Grand Chancellor hotels in Adelaide, this review is about the one on Currie Street, actually the entrance is off Gilbert Place. Among the negatives is a complete lack of parking, even merely dropping off is fraught with concern (there is a car park nearby for $16 a day, with multiple access), another is the backpackers... at 3:00 a.m. three apparently drunk people walked right in our room! I went out and tested the door and sure enough, you didn't need to use a key to open it! Room was dingy, old. Location was good. Would not stay here again.

The room was large, although the sleeping area was kinda tight. There was a small kitchen and a living room too, where the TV set was installed. The view from the window was inwards an alleyway, thus not good at all. The breakfast was served in a restaurant beside the hotel and it was awful, the smell of the place... More

This hotel is in need of some maintenance! Within minutes of checking into our hotel, we realized our door handle to the bathroom was broke, pulling right out of the door. When we opened one of the main windows, it came off the hinges. The toiletseat was broke, and kept sliding to the side. Our door to our room could... More

The room and the location are great. You go out right in the middle of the city. It could be above average if the service were more staffed and better managed. I watched a lady, probably a manager, freaking out because someone had left the front door open. Install an automatic door, please!

We stayed for two nights in this hotel. On arrival at noon there was a young dark haired (and some red stripes) girl at the reception. She didn't greet us, nor she said welcome, but the only thing she said: "your room isn't ready yet." Since we hadn't yet told our name (and she didn't seem to caring about it)... More

So here's the thing (from someone who stays in this hotel regularly since 2008): This is Bergen. Not NY, London, Paris or anyplace else. If you want concierge, bellboy, porters, valet, restaurant, wine waiters, turn down service etc....then you will be disappointed in pretty much ALL that Bergen have available, probably everywhere else in Norway too excluding some of Oslo's... It is amazing how first impressions can color your experience throughout the stay. When we arrived on Sunday the desk clerk, who admitted she was new, struggled to help us figure out why our electronic room key would not lock the door. She had little training and no back up from management (because it was Sunday). She ended up problem-solving... More

This apartment hotel is just a short walk down to the Harbor and all the museums in town - good location. The apartments are clean and comfortably furnished with modern Scandinavian style furnishings. The kitchen has a good supply of dishes, pots, etc. and includes a dishwasher. It is fine for preparing light meals. Be aware that there are no... More

Located in the city square, this hotel is a five minute walk from the fisherman's wharf and a convenient bus ride to the airport. The rooms are clean, large, and set up as fully-equipped apartments. This factor is extremely important as eating in Bergen is very expensive and this gives the option of cooking in the room after buying from... More
