I came to Bergen at a Monday morning without having booked any hotel for the night. I took a quick scan at booking.com and found this hotel with an excellent reputation and for the cheap price of 990,- a night. I have to say I was thoroughly impressed by the size of the room, the fact that I had both... More

The hotel is located at an excellent spot, right next to the houses of Bryggen. The room is nice and clean with a huge bathroom. The bathroom has a classy look and It has a lot of amenties too. The breakfast was also good. Enjoyed my stay a lot and will surely visit this place again if I revisit Bergen.

Bergen is beautiful when the sun shines and it is such a vibrant town, with street markets, restaurants and lots to see and do, it is of course being in Norway very expensive!! The old town multi coloured building are just down the road with excellent restaurants nearby. Norway is one of only a very small number of counties that... More

The hotel's location was perfect especially as the weather was a little inclement. It is old, traditional warm and cosy. We were able to walk out, see some things then return to get dry and warm up. The room was quite big and the twin beds not placed right next to each other, a great bonus. We had tea and... More

We selected this hotel based on its location in Bryggen. The old elements of the hotel add charm to the mod cons you expect. Our room was cosy with a really comfortable bed. Breakfast was a feast and the staff were so helpful and friendly. Would really recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Bergen.

A wonderfully situated hotel in the historic Hanseatic quarter of Bergen. Although some described this as boutique I would say there was a touch of shabby-chic to it as well, and none the worse for that either. Super-comfy beds with mattress toppers and warm duvets; excellent bathroom with two basins, and roll top bath as well as separate shower; great... More

Very nice hotel, small and calm thought and placed in the middle of everything (Bryggen). Very historical and "vintage". Nice rooms with very nice and fresh bathrooms (at least our room), very good beds and friendly staff. The bar and the restaurant is also very good. Unfortunately two light bulbs were missing in our room, and there were no staff... More

We stayed at Det Hanseatiske the night before a trip on the Hurtigruten. We booked well in advance and were not disappointed. It's the only hotel that's right in the historic Bryggen and the wooden framed building has been cleverly adapted as a hotel. Each room is uniquely furnished with lovely bathrooms, supremely comfortable beds and even six sprinklers in... More

My wife and I stayed here for 2 days earlier this month - November 2014. What we liked: 1) Great location. 2 minute walk to the Funicular. Good restaurants and pubs around. 2) 10 minute walk to the city centre 3) Quick check-in and friendly staff 4) Wholesome breakfast. Free tea and coffee available at the restaurant all day. Kettle/tea/coffee/mini... More

We chose this hotel because it is located in the central, old part of the city. We could not have chosen better! Located in converted "long houses" dating back to the early 18th century, it is modern and beautifully presented. The room was wonderful, and in the bathroom was a delightful old-fashioned footed freestanding bathtub. The staff were all so... More
