- everyone seems to have to be stuck with this hostel, if you want the location - great kitchen with everything, but again everyone seems to be cooking there - great and large numbers of lockers that you can use for free - just opposite the fish market, with a supermarket (open even on sunday) just around the corner (ask... more

Stayed here for 4 nights in June (Bruce Springsteen concert). I was very impressed by the location - right in the middle of the city. On the top floor (4th) there's a nice balcony with a good view of the harbour. The room (4 person with bunkbeds, small citchen and bathroom) was clean, and the maid came by everyday to... more

I stayed here for 3 nights in Feb 09, and found it to be very comfortable, and was much better than I expected it to be. The beds are comfy, bunk beds, but we had an en-suite bathroom, with underfloor heating. There was a sink and fridge in the room too. The linen was provided, and the hostel had a... more

This property is perfectly located at the fish market. We were able get around town very conveniently. If you are on a budget, this place offers cheap but good rooms. There is also a patio on the roof with great views of the bryggen. If you are used to the finer things, you will not like this hostel. We got... more

Even though it's a YMCA hostel, there were elderly people checking out as we checked in! =D which shows how much of a bargain it is. As everyone has mentioned - the location, simply in the MIDDLE, superb. Price is very reasonable in Norway, and rooms aren't too bad. There was even a kitchenette in our 4-bed dorm. Even though... more

As other people mentioned, the location is absolutely fantastic. I really could not believe how central the hostel was. I only spent one night, so I did not get a chance to check out the kitchen, so I can't comment on that. But other than that it was great. I was in the women's dorm, probably had about 16 beds.... more

Shower turns off every 20 seconds so you have to keep pressing it as you shower. Hot water not an issue. Great location in the heart of Bergen. No Internet access. Full kitchen in shared area and mini-fridge in room. Book EARLY! more

It was my girlfriend's first hostel experience, and me as a backpacker, gave her little wisdom of hostels beforehand to prepare her for anything (from good to bad). I booked a 4 bed shared room. I can't think of a better location than this. Right next to Kiwi grocery shop, 20 seconds walk away from the main tourist office, around... more

I'm used going to some luxury hotels and this was my first time travelling for leisure and staying in a hostel as I was looking for something different. The experience was really good. The hostel is perfectly placed in a safe just in the center, next to the fish market and the tourist info office (the airport bus stops in... more

I turned up in Bergen at 11 pm in mid June. I tried a couple of central places - nothing for less than 150 EUR, and the staff didn't really want to know. Then I tried walking around to various places listed in the guidebook - predictably people had gone to sleep by almost midnight. Last resort - YMCA. Very... more
