We took 15 basketball players and 10 of their parents to Bergen for a tournament, and we stayed at Montana. We checked quite a few prices and Montana had by far the best value for the money. We stayed in low season and paid 750 kroner for four-bed family rooms with bathroom. The staff was friendly and flexible, the rooms... More

I stayed at this hostel when I was backpacking through Scandinavia and was hoping to save some money by staying at this hostel compared to the city centre one. In reality you have to take a bus which I believe was around 20-30NOK 1 way to get up to the hostel and it wasn't very frequent. The reception staff were... More

Traveled in *Oct., 2007* but didn't use tripadvisor but did put negative review on hostelbookers.com where I booked this hostel from. Room cleanness and size are ok. Breakfast is below average. Services are TERRIBLE. The hot water in the en-suite stopped literally 5 mins after switching on so I have to move to another bathroom (3 mins away walking in... More

Didnt mind the bus trips as some others did who wrote here. Rooms were ok, nice kitchen, internet worked good downstairs. Not in the rooms, but that was not a problem. Good breakfast! Ja overall had a really nice stay.

Stayed in a private twin room in Montana Hostel during my Norway in a Nutshell tour. Thank God I left my luggage in my Oslo hotel, did not realize that bus 31 from town centre goes up to this hostel only once an hour, waited for over half an hour, and wonder if I have got the wrong bus station,... The youth hostel was on a hill and had a breathtaking view. The service was good and they had a kitchen, in which one could cook their meals. It must be accessed by bus, so be sure to ask the driver ahead of time to announce the stop or you might miss it. The rooms where quite small but what... More

This is an average hostel. We were part of a group and, whilst eveyone else was happy with their room, we had no hot water in the shower, our shower ran all the time, we had thin foam mattresses and our room was not cleaned once in the 5 days we stayed there. Other people in our group had their... More

I stayed here to attend a meeting, so it was arranged by work. The room I had was simple, and the bathroom was ok but a little bit outdated and not spotless. The breakfast was good. The hostel is locatd on a high hill, wich gives a great view over Bergen! However it can be tiring to go up and... More

Prices for the 4-bed dorm were high, but the room was nice. Breakfast was pretty good (although very busy). The common shower was possibly the best shower I’ve ever had – hot, and with perfect water pressure. Handy location for the mountain

It is the one time we were fed up with Norway... When I inquired for a doubleroom I was told the price would be 100 euros (bed linen and pillowcases extra) and I could choose with a bunkbed and wireless internet in the room, and 2 beds on the ground but no wireless. we could use free wireless (unprotected) in...
