I hope this review is for the right place -- the address is the same, we just had heard it called the Gullaksen Guesthouse. We were both content and disappointed with our stay at Gullaksen Gjesthouse. In some ways it exceeded our expectations, namely because of the friendly owner. She helped us when we had questions, and she DID OUR LAUNDRY at no charge. She didn't provide us with a washer and dryer -- she took a bag of dirty clothes in the morning... more

Stayed 4 nights in August 2004. Spartan but affordable double room (550NOK/night) with private bathroom. No breakfast included. Reasonable location, about 12 mins walk from train station. What more can I say - nothing's cheap in Norway (that's saying something - we live in London)! more
