Very clean, nice communal facilities (kitchen, dining room, small lounge area) and excellent central location. I stayed in an eight-bed dorm for one week and it was fine. Norway is very expensive but this place is very affordable by Norwegian standards (and the prices do not rise just because it is the weekend - the way it should be!). Wifi... More

Despite bunkbeds on the first night (our fault for being late arrivals) it was a very nice place to stay at a good price. Clean and amazingly quiet. Superb location 5 - 10 mins from everywhere. We switched rooms to a twin room for the second night which was very good and vstly superior for a husband and wife. Excellent... More

We stayed at this hostel only for one night and I'm glad that we had chosen exactly that place. The personel was nice, atmosphere was really cozy (nice lounge with tv, wifi and the coaches). Nvember is not the most touristic season in Norway so we stayed just three (me, my friend and one more girl) in the room for... More

I have stayed in this hostel three times already, I book it every time I go visit Bergen. It is a very clean hostel, with great location, vey quiet, good facilities and beautiful views from some of the rooms and the kitchen/dining area. The prices are good there, but you do have to pay extra for bedding. So if it... More

The rooms in this hostel were really clean and lovely and the staff were really friendly. The kitchen is really small and made cooking hard due to this and most of the pots were grubby ( a fault of the residents, not the hostel obvioulsy). The showers were also grubby but they were cleaned everyday, again this was due to... More

I stayed at Marken Gjestehus as accommodation in Bergen is very expensive and I couldn't afford a hotel. Overall I found the place to be very good. Great location in the heart of Bergen. I stayed in a male 4 bed room. They had lockers for each person and the lockers were large so you could easily fit the suitcases... More

I booked a triple room with the private bathroom. When arriving, I found it was originally a double room with an extra sofa bed. I don’t like sofa bed just because of my back pain . However they didn’t describe it clearly at all on their homepage. The room door was quite old and wasn’t opened easily. When I spread... More

This hostel was in a great location. The kitchen can sometimes get cramped and dirty but there were many guests while I stayed there. The views from the windows were great because Bergen is so beautiful. This was a nice hostel. I would stay there again.

This is one of the more affordable options and is good value with a great location and clean facilities. I stayed in both the dorm and private room. The private room is very comfortable. The dorm was fine, but there was only one socket, which made it difficult to charge phones, etc. The one bad thing was that the reception... More
