Great Staff, terrific location, wonderful breakfast....room was very clean and decent for the value...I'd stay again without a doubt. If you are driving there is a parking garage right near by on the same street.

The First Hotel Marin in Bergen is a gem! We booked it through Fjord Tours along with the Sognefjord in a Nutshell trip. We arrived after traveling straight through from Florida. The staff and more notably, Egil, made us feel welcome and provided us with a wealth of local information. We were offered a upgraded room for a small price... More

This is an excellent hotel right in the center of Bergen, just steps away from the historic Bryggen (with fairy tale houses), Hansiatic museum (which is a great place to learn about Bryggen), funicular to Mount Floien (which should not be missed for the greatest view, trolls park, and nice hike), Fish market (where you can try smoked salmon, whale... We arrived at 2230 following an epic 14 hour car journey from Oslo. (Hint: the roads are all single carriage way, twisting and hard work to dive on. Fabulous scenery but road was blocked by a rock fall 25 miles from Bergen, which required a 150 mile detour down minor roads). We were made welcome and fed and watered despite... More

Stayed as part of a GATE1 tour so can't comment on value, but the hotel was ok in most respects. Location: Central. Most historical buildings and museums in walking distance. Both waterfront and Mt. Floyen funicular are a 3-4 minute walk. Surrounded by many restaurants - we enjoyed dinner at Samtanthai (Thai) and TandooriTapas (Indian) both a short walk from... More

Very friendly service, large room with all the necessities - eg. a shelf for the suitcase, a desk and a large chair. The only thing I missed, was a magnifying mirror in the bathroom. The bed was comfortable. I would not hesitate to stay here again, if I could afford it.

But the reception desk could only recommend one restaurant and that was Egons. Egons is awful and I was hoping for other suggestions but there were none. Breakfast and room was really good. The TV signals were faulty and the TV had to be reset several times. No obvious WIFI either.

Good location, good breakfast, room had an additional bedroom for the kids. Our room was relatively large and faced inwards (city building) which was OK. There was no significant road noise in the evenings and the noise in the morning was not noticeable with the window closed.

A lovely hotel nicely situated right in the hub. Staff we're very friendly and helpful. Room (standard) was clean and nicely decorated. No tea and coffee in room tho, had to go downstairs for that; which sometimes ran out. That's my only negative. Breakfast was very good. All in all a superb base to see Bergen. Will definitely stay again.

Central location, short walk to the Fløybanen that take you by tram/car to the top of the mountain. Short walk to the docks where they serve seafood fresh from the ocean, many restaurants&pubs nearby. A quiet hotel in the city centre.
