The Augustin Hotel is located on the south side of the Vågen (harbor), so there is a lovely view of Bryggen and the rest of the harbor. It's a short walk to the Fishmarket, and the Aquarium is also close by. The hotel is on the site of an ancient tavern, the oldest in Bergen, and it was also the... More

This was a great hotel in a central location! We had a triple room which was really large, nice and plush and very comfortable. They advertised bicycles available when I was booking and we were looking forward to a bit of cycling.. it turned out that they only had 3 which couldn't be reserved when we checked on our late... I booked the hotel direct and it proved perfect for the 4 night stay. An excellent 5th floor corner room overlooking the harbour with plenty of space for 3 of us. The beds were comfortable and the staff attentive/polite. The breakfast buffet was very Norwegian and plentiful. Great smoked salmon and scrambled egg. .The hotel location could not have been... Augustin is located close to the Harbour & Fish Market. That's the good part. However when we reached Augustin as part of our Norway Visit, it was the time of year for Annual Boat race. I was told all Hotels were booked. The staff was friendly and responsive, also very caring. However our allotted room, though booked triple, was a... More

Given that Bergen is very expensive, we chose this hotel based upon a combination of location, price and facilities. Overall OK. Room quite large but overlooked the street which was a little noisy but not too bad. This did have the benefit of providing a view of the water. Short walk into town, perhaps 10 minutes so no problem. Everything... More

Room: Room 415 is classed as a standard room, however I think they missed the first three letters (sub)! Very small and cramped and couldn't,t even open arms in bathroom to dry after a shower. Whilst on subject if shower, the shower head did not fit in holder and therefore water goes everywhere as you cannot direct it on to... More

Our room did not have a good view. Room is kind of outdated, not extremely clean. Free wifi all over the hotel. Average staff. Excellent location, walking distance to city center and fish market as well to many restaurants and shops. Breakfast room is very crowded. Breakfast selection is just average.

This was a very nice hotel with a great free breakfast-nice selection of items. The location was very convenient-easy walk to the harbor area and the funicular. The room was also very nice and clean. The décor was nicely done.
