I would echo many of the recent reviews on this hotel. Good location but that would be it's only redeeming quality. This hotel is extremely "tired". Entirely too expensive for what is offered. The breakfast cost extra and was definitely not of the best quality. Fortunately, we only needed to stay one night. Never again! more

It´s very close to the "heart" of Brygge at Bergen. We can walk till the marketplace and even to the train station. The rooms are very clean and we had a good help at the reception desk. A slightly dated hotel but by no means bad at all. Lift does look a bit like one of those old freight sytle lifts you used to see (you close the door yourself etc). This is a poor value at any price. From the cigarette butts at the entrance, the grimy lobby and the tiny, Spartan-like room, there was nothing to recommend other than the breakfast which was not included . The harbor location did not compensate for the far less than adequate accomodations. more

Nice location near the Brygge, but the rooms, bathrooms, and hallways needed some updating. I think Thon bought out the former hotel (the logo was still in the bathroom) and has yet to put in the money to improve the rooms. This place was in a very handy location, close to the harbor and the interesting areas of the city. The hotel itself was quite shabby, the room small, and the bathtub wasn't flush with the walls so you ended up with a swimming pool in the bathroom with every shower! It was quite peculiar. This place is shabby and badly in need of an update. The shower facilities were not particularly clean and the tub drained out through the floor. The ceiling in the bathroom also had a hole in it.
