I had a great room and I knew security was never an issue. The bedroom and bathroom were renovated nicely. It's a nice walk from the centre of town and even better is that it is very near the start of a fantastic hike where you will see panoramic views of Bergen. There is so much hiking once up there,... Accommodations were modern, clean, comfortable. Andreas and Mats were great hosts. Really made us feel welcome and gave us advice on what to see and do. Would definitely stay there again!

We stayed for one night at the Bergen Guesthouse on Stolemout, that was close to town and thus very convenient. The rooms were on the small side, but neat and clean. The house is old, but in perfect shape. After the first night our hosts moved us to bigger quarters a couple of blocks up the street. There we had... More

I did not find any hotel room in Bergen, so in the end I got here. i don't regret it at all. It was very clean, the people were nice, it was close to Bryggen (even if there's a steep walk to get to the house), it was not expensive. If only there had been a table, even a common... More

While it has a good many attributes,  by far the most positive aspect of staying at Bergen Guesthouse is its budget-minded price - and a most important attribute it is, especially to anyone who had paid for lodging in this very pricey city. Bergen Guesthouse will set the traveler back about $150 US dollars, and while at first glance may... More

Visiting Bergen and staying in the Bergen Guesthouse was one of the highlights of our journey through Scandinavia. We stayed in the small room, which was absolutely cozy. Matt, who with Andreas, runs the guesthouse, was super friendly and help us with all our questions. Staying in the Bergen Guesthouse reminded me of being at my family cottage in Muskoka,... More

We stayed at the Bergen Guesthouse for three days and everything was perfect. The location (quiet and cosy), the apartment (clean and well provided) and specially our hosts, Mats & Andreas. They were very kind and helpful in every way. We really apreciate their help and advices to explore Bergen and the fjords area. Sofía, Seville, Spain

Located up a quiet cobblestone-paved hill behind the Bryggen, this little guesthouse is well-maintained and easily more convenient than most hotels in town, for a lower price! Mats and Andrea were great hosts -- very friendly and helpful. I arrived in Bergen well past 1am, navigating the, at times, confusing network of cobblestone streets up to the guesthouse. The place... Stay here for 4 nights in the large apartment at no. 2b. Had a great time, wonderful and helpful hosts (Andreas and Mats). Cause of them we met some locals who took us out for fishing. We BBQ'd our catch the next day on our own BBQ. Here you taste the real Bergen! Much better than a unpersonal hotelroom.

I doubt I would have loved Bergen as much or stayed as long as I did were it not for the beautiful Bergen Guesthouse. Nestled within a charmingly beautiful cobblestone street, it felt like I was truly staying in a home away from home. I was met upon arrival and shown to my room - I stayed in one of... More
