I stayed for a period of 2 weeks and found the guesthouse wonderfull. My room was clean, spacious and comfortable, and the owner friendly and welcoming. Was great value for money. Overall, very accommodating for a lone australian traveller! more

We stayed two nights in the 1-bedroom apt, which was quite spacious and well-equipped for self-catering. I found this provided great value and I couldn't believe how much cheaper it was to make our own dinner one night. (My tip for expensive Norway is to self-cater where you can and save your money for the restaurants you are most interested... more

Nice location in Bergen (I liked the area, there's a tiny park nearby, and not too far to walk to central area). Rooms in an old house. Old but comfortable. Shared bath (only one bathroom though). Only met the daughter, who was friendly. Nothing out of the ordinary, but not bad and clean. Breakfast not served. more

let me start with the positive, it is very central, 2mn from the ferry, clean and we had the "1 bed apartment" which was very spacious. Now for the rest.... It is an old house, and maintained just so it doesn't fall apart. The website says you need to share the bathroom, but it only talks about the 3 rooms... more

A quaint guesthouse in a good location in Bergen. The owner was friendly and helpful, and the guesthouse was in easy walking distance of the city center. I would stay here again. more

We stay at fancy pancy hotels all y round thorugh our jobs - but this is much better! Next time we visit Bergen we will stay in room #1 at Klosterhaugen. Retro, fair, clean, kind, cheap and with a perfect location. Christian is kind and very forthcoming - we landed - and will definitely be back. In spite of this... more

We just returned from a 2 night stay at this guesthouse. Overall, we were not overly pleased with our stay. Pros: - Kristian was very nice. We let us stay in a larger room the first night as it was not occupied. He recommended a great restaurant (Cafe Opera) - good location - rate ok for Bergen - rooms had... more

The room was exactly the way we hoped (we took the double with the kitchen), no picture manipulation on the website at all! Kristian gave us the best service possible. He has a very gentle nature which makes you feel very at ease right from the moment you walk in. We had an amazing time in Bergen and Kristian and... more

A real gem for probably the best price youll ever get in Bergen - that is - if you dont want sleep together with other people in dormitories and get robbed. The guesthouse is a typical and stylish Begenshus with lots of charm and personality. The service given was very professional, forthcoming and relaxing. The location was perfect; on the... more
