We stayed at the Viking hotel (City living) in Trondheim for two nights in July 2008. It is by far the worst hotel in Norway that I have ever stayed in. Upon arrival we found the doors to the hotel locked, with a note telling us that we would have to check in at another hotel in the same chain of hotels (City living) about 200-300 meters away. After trekking there and waiting in line, we got our electronic key-card (only one because they were short on cards) after having to pay for the stay in advance (about 275 $ for two nights). We then walked back to the hotel and managed to open the door.

Our room was situated on the 3 rd floor and naturally we headed for the elevator. It was in principle operational, but had a note warning guests that it was not connected to any security system at the moment.
