Rooms and hotel are nicely redecorated, and the only thing telling this is not a brand new hotel are the elevators. The breakfast are among the best I have ever seen and tasted. presented like in a farmers market with absolutely everything you would think of. freshly baked bred, rolls, cakes and other pastry, fresh cut fruits, fresh juices, smoothies,... After getting stuck at Manchester Airport in the snow on 29th January we eventually made our way via Amsterdam and Bergen airports to Trondheim. We were to get on a Hurtigruten boat to cruise up the coast of Norway. Hurtigruten put us up in the Radisson Blu Royal Garden Hotel in Trondheim for one night. Even though it was very... More

We spent two nights there, one of 6 hotels we stayed at on our tour of Norway and Lapland. Probably the best, certainly the most interesting. Located on the river and within walking distance of shops, the cathedral and old town and restaurants. Lots and lots of glass. The design is odd in that I don't think any rooms have... More

The hotel is close enough to major transportation that cab fares won't kill you, and it's an easy walk to the main shopping district, the cathedral, and the old fortress above the city. The hotel is quite modern in design, but the "Gardens" of the name seem to result in unpleasant musty odors in some areas...most notably in the elevators.... More

The location is great, very close to both shopping areas and many restaurants. The staff are friendly and the breakfast (as ever with Radissons) is simply incredible for the price of the room. The downsides are the fact the view from our rooms was the dining room which was really annoying. This is isn't the first Radisson we have used... More

The hotel is well situated for the railway station, the main shopping area and the old town. The rooms were very comfortable although as others have noted there was an unpleasant smell in the lifts resembling a dead animal. The staff were very friendly and helpful and offered umbrellas for the rain. The food was good and the breakfast selection... More

Used the hotel recently for a work trip. I generally find the Radison Blu style is what i like, clean modern and fresh and this hotel was no exception. There may be more central hotels, but i found the location to be what i was after (no city centre noise). I had booked this hotel as it had a pool... More

Stayed on Royal Garden on Valentines and had an average stay. We got a junior suite which was a two-floor hotel room. It was said during the booking that you had great view from the room, which was small lie. The view was ok, but tiny windows and more view of surrounding buildings made the view more average than great.... More

I love this hotel. The location is very ideal. It is very easy to get to/from the airport through the vaernes expressen shuttle, which will drop you off in front of the hotel. The location is also very close to Bakklandet and directly in the city center and near many bars and restaurants. My hb and I stayed here for... More
