I came up with hopes of have a nice stay with my friends in oslo but some of the staff made my stay the worst. I have never found such an arrogant and unprepared staff with no knowlodge at all of how to deal with tourist... Everything you do is paid they dont care about your stay or anything like... More

I turned to my cousin in surprise after searching HostelWorld for hostels to stay at in Oslo. "There is like two hostels and they don't even look like proper hostels" I exclaimed. He was barely listening so I went ahead and booked the Anker Hostel. It was more like a hotel with bunk beds in each room which isn't bad... More

The rooms were pretty small and the people at the front desk were not helpful at all. There's also no good places to eat nearby, and it's not a great part of town. However, the room was clean, and it had a en-suite bathroom which was nice, and a small fridge. It's also really close to the central train and... More

Easy to find, not far from station, just pass the gypsy beggars and human excrement on the pavement and you are there. Booked a double to my self, good job it has a reputation for weekly visits from the police, breakfast is out the hostel and round the corner everything is extra, and I didn't find any kitchen, there was... Extremely convenient location, and I appreciated that the bathrooms were en suite in the 6-person dormitories. However, two things could use improvement: (1) I wish they would include price of bed linens. Towels I understand, but I do not think traveling with sheets is normal, even for penny-pinching backpackers. What happens instead is that people sleep on the mattresses without... More

Conveniently located (short walk from the central bus/train station), clean, basic amenities (but you don't need anything more). Just make sure to bring your own bedlinen and towels (even for those of you booking double rooms).

Probably the cleanest hostel I`ve ever seen. Expensive for a hostel, but this is Norway we`re talking about. Good location near Central Station. Each room has a kitchenette. No one cooked in my room, but I think the cooking odors could be a problem.

There is no better price for Oslo. I stayed in a room with 8 beds. The room was cleaned in a daily basis. Beds were comfortable and even being 1.94m tall, there was enough space for me. Staff was friendly and the internet connection was quite fast. There is easy transport just in front of the hostel, but the walk... More

I've said in other reviews or shall I say I've posed the question, "who goes to a city just to stay in their hotel or hostel room all day long ?" In my opinion Anker Hostel is really quite ideal for people traveling on a budget and who don't expect a fancy hotel stay. Anker's location is quite good and... More

A friend and I travelled to Oslo to go to the Norwegian Wood music festival and the Anker Hostel was the cheapest place we could find for one night at around £35 each in an 8 bed dorm. One of the first things I noticed when I arrived at the hostel was the numerous signs warning of thieves and pickpockets.... More
