I stayed at Anker Hostel for one night after hearing great things about it from friends and fellow backpackers. It was definitely the cheapest option available in July, and it did not disappoint. The staff offered luggage storage while I was waiting to check in to my room. The 6-bed dorm I stayed in was clean and quiet, and the... More

First of all I have to say that Norway is an expensive country. Maybe not for everyone, but it really does have some of the highest prices in Europe. I stayed for 4 nights at the Hostel in a twin room and my experience there was... pretty OK. It wasn't very expensive so we didn't expect much - the room... More

The location of the hostel is amazing (quite central, and close to many nice restaurants and the student life), the staff very friendly and helpful (with tips for food, etc), and everything was very clean. There is a luggage room and valuable lockers can be used. However, be aware that there will be hidden costs in the price of the... More

A 5 minute walk from Oslo central station or you can take a tram which is again 2 stops. The front desk people are very nice and a quick check in. There is an additional charge for bed linens and towel, but it is not charged during the next stay.(if you come back to the hostel after a couple of... More

Toilet and showers in room. Map on reception. Excelent position. Try to reserve parking place, bacause near garage cost ca 30 eur per day. Internet only in public place and not so speed. Inside look like a bunker.

We are Australians and had booked this Anker "Hostel" as it was shown to us on the Net for our family of 4. This turned into a very unpleasant saga when we turned up in our car from Sweden. I booked a family room with what we believed from Internet advertising, was for a Youth Hostel style accommodation for our... More

This is a low budget hostel - and a large one. The facilities are minimum, but it is clean and with modern IKEA furniture. This is absolutely a place to stay for 1-3 nights if you are traveling on a budget, or just like simple amenities (almost none). You can rent kitchen stuff, pots and pans and so on, and... More

This was my first stay at a host and it was an okay experience. The desk clerk was nice but there was a charge for sheets and towel. I was in a room with 8 young ladies. They were very nice but hard to sleep due to fact we all arrived at different times in the late evening making for... More

I had a one night layover in Oslo on the way to Iceland so I decided to stay in the city center at the Anker Hostel. It is fairly close to the train station, the waterfront, and Karl Johans Gate-one of the main shopping streets. I know Scandinavia is expensive, but I expected a bit more value for my money.... More

This isn't really a hostel. Plus points for being cheap (260 NOK = 31.65 EUR) Minus points for kitchens in the rooms, showers being the same room as the bathroom, which gets everything wet and muggy, weird, non-hostel-like guests, unfriendly and direct staff.
