Anker Hostel is basically a decent, no-frills hostel. You get everything you need, although the (in my experience) fairly standard hostel rule of either bring your own bedding/towel (or rent ours) applies. Positives: - The price. Given that Oslo (and, seemingly, Norway in general) is extortionately expensive, this hostel is incredibly well-priced. - Tiny kitchen in the room! Wasn't planning... More

This hostel is located in a street really close to the center of the city, so it's possible to visit Oslo just by walking. The price is not that high to be in Norway. However I stayed in a 8 beds dormitory: the room, the bathroom and the beds were really dirty. There was a small kitchen but without pots,... More

Reviews for Anker Hostel differ wildly on Trip Advisor and on HostelWorld. In my opinion, this hostel is good if you tip up in the evening, go straight to sleep, get out early, and try not to open your eyes much in the meantime. The hostel is situated in a threatening and unpleasant district of Oslo - its location doesn't... More

I stayed at Anker Hostel for two nights in an 8 bed dorm. It was easy to find although as a female solo traveller arriving in the evening, the walk from the train station felt a bit dodgy so I'd recommend trying to arrive during the day. The reception staff were friendly but the room was small and crowded. As... More

Oslo is expensive, so we booked a double room here. We were giving a room with four bunk beds....but the only ones there, so we had LOTS of room. It is very basic in that there are not any dishes or cooking utensils in the kitchen. Not even a glass to have a drink of water !! Close to walk... More

There was a small kitchenette in the room, but not a single pot or even kettle to cook with - pots (not kettles; we tried to borrow a kettle and were rudely told we couldn't) apparently could be borrowed at the lobby, but the staff were so unfriendly we did not bother. No central kitchen available except during certain months... More

Was there a while ago with friends, and we were really glad to see that this one was a really nice hotel, at a really reasonable prices, considering that it's located just a few minutes from town! We couldn't be happier to have found this amazing good value hotel. The room were we stayed was really clean, big (we were... More

Stayed for a night in an eight-bed dorm room but with only two guests. The room was clean and basic. Bring your own towel and linen if you don't want to pay extra. An affordable alternative for very pricey Oslo.

It was very nice and clean staying and also very cheap accomodation in Oslo It is good for young people who are travelling from one place to another and are looking for some place to overnight stay rather than some luxury hotel.

This hostel has kitchenettes in every dormitory, which is obviously an appalling design. Before I booked my bed at this hostel I emailed them to check explicitly I would be able to use the common kitchen (not the in-dormitory kitchenette), which was important for me, and they replied saying yes no problem, I could. When dinner time came and I... More
