Anker is a big hostel with many floors. Only the first floor has a hang out area and it's rather small, though people manage. They have good deals on beer at their hostel bar. I stayed in a 4-bed dorm with 2 beds and 1 bunkbed - everyone paid the same price, and although I got a bed rather than... More

I really enjoyed my stay at Anker Hostel. Everyone there was very friendly and helpful. There was a nice common area/bar to hang out between excursions, the location was also ideal. The hostel setup is very typical--dorm style, there were 6 bunks in our room, mix-gender--It felt very safe, and being a very pricey city to begin with I was... More

For Norwegian standards this was a steel. A room with more beds but they rent is as a two singles room what is not bad. Nice bathroom and small kitchen with fridge. Stayed there two times. Location is 10 min walking to the center. Will return and recommend.

I trudged to this hostel at 10pm, dragging a wet suitcase through the snow, trying to keep the flurries from melting through my hair as I used my free hand to pull my hood even more snuggly about my face. I wasn't looking forward to the experience of staying at Anker Hostel, as I'd read rather poor reviews about it,... More

Firstly, I want to say that I wasn't expecting some luxury services. Starting from the reception staff, they should definitely improve their customer service, to the cleaning staff that absolutely need to learn how to do their job (we found some ear plugs on a frame, that they left there even though we've reported to reception, some dust all around... The staffs are helpful and nice. Quite fast internet connection -all in with room fees. The downsides are breakfast is not included and the room is old -a renovation will help, but they got a very good lobby. Another good thing, the profit goes to Anker Student Dorm, where students in Oslo stay. It lies just a few stops from... More

On the lobby. Just the lobby. The rest of the hostel looks and feels like a former juvenile detention center. I only spent only one night here and gladly so. The hostel looks nothing like its pictures and in fact gave me the creeps. My friends and I avoided as much time as possible from being in the room, and... More

When conducting a search in Oslo for affordable (circa £50 a night) and well located accommodation, Anker Hostel (and it's sister Hotel) yielded the best result so my fiance and I opted for the a private room. Upon arrival however, we were informed that not only is bedding and towels not included in the price, but that the bedding is... More
