The location of the hotel is PERFECT, its in the best most beautiful section of Oslo and its located in Anker Brygge, be sure to request a view of the water. Its also next to Astrup Fearnley museum. The hotel itself is immaculately beautiful and its as if you're living 300 years into the future. The staff is super friendly... More

Spend the week-end in Oslo and stay at The Thief. Expectations high after all publicity this hotel have received and what a disaster: room suppose to have a view ("the best we have") and we are looking right into an office building, room is small and very cold and staff don't seem to understand that they should serve the customers.... Greetings and many thank for your very interesting and very personal review of The Thief . Whenever i read a review of this type i have to get to the bottom of the discontent and as there is so little in your review to comprehend your comment "worst hotel experience in Scandinavia " my only option is to try and... I stayed in the hotel for three days in August at the end of a summer vacation in Norway. I liked the maritime and modern vicinity of the hotel. The hotel reception and rooms are all very nicely to look at their non-Scandinavian, more rich decor. The breakfast buffet had a sufficient selection of food, also on the healthier side.... More

We stayed at the hotel for 2 days with our kids. The connecting rooms were ok but the decoration was very dark and busy, which I wasn't expecting in Oslo. The open buffet breakfast was very good with many options. The location of the hotel is ok, not in the city center but not far from the center. I would... More

This looked oh so cool when I booked it and the building looked great. The area is conveniently close to the centre of the city, the ferry terminal (there is an island with all the museums on it which is brilliant) and the views from the room to the castle and the cruise liners are amongst the best. From the... More

The Thief is referred to as a 6-star hotel, so this sets the bar very high. It is indeed very good, with a beautiful interior, very good location and with very friendly staff at the front desk. The room (a deluxe room) was very comfortable with high quality materials everywhere and with a side view to the waterfront. We thoroughly... More

Three-day break in Oslo. Great city, great hotel : the Thief is a haven within a haven. Superb breakfasts and personal touches throughout our stay. It's well placed - 5-10 minutes from the heart of Oslo - but quiet at the same time. Good selection of shops, bars, restaurants and a 7-11 nearby. We'll return - but we need to... More

The Thief is a modern hotel located on Aker Brygge in an area called "Thief's Home" (Tjuvholmen), hence the name. Aker Brygge is a little like Chelsea Harbour in London, but much busier. It is the night life centre of Oslo with restaurants for all budgets. The hotel is in a quiet pedestrian zone. Rooms are well planned and spotless,... More

While the customer service is a bit awkward, it is good. I think there are simple communication-style differences over the many cultures this hotel must serve. So, this I can say: Each issue I had, the staff resolved. The timing or speaking style or methods of resolving them — those may have been a bit odd to me. But, keep... More

Wow .....what a review and what a pleasure to read your very honest and candid thoughts . As you mentioned we are a new international property and of the many languages spoken here English / Norwegian / Swedish / Spanish are the dominant ingredients in what we call The Thief Factor . Soulful floors and an abundance of pillows are... More
