Three-day break in Oslo. Great city, great hotel : the Thief is a haven within a haven. Superb breakfasts and personal touches throughout our stay. It's well placed - 5-10 minutes from the heart of Oslo - but quiet at the same time. Good selection of shops, bars, restaurants and a 7-11 nearby. We'll return - but we need to... More

The Thief is a modern hotel located on Aker Brygge in an area called "Thief's Home" (Tjuvholmen), hence the name. Aker Brygge is a little like Chelsea Harbour in London, but much busier. It is the night life centre of Oslo with restaurants for all budgets. The hotel is in a quiet pedestrian zone. Rooms are well planned and spotless,... More

We stayed for the weekend at the uber sexy Thief. A downtown business section location by the harbour. Trendy setting with rooms to match. Luxurious bed, smart TV and creative room lighting made for an impressive feel good stay. Breakfast included in our package which was plentiful and interesting. Courteous and informed staff made for a safe and informative trip.... More

While the customer service is a bit awkward, it is good. I think there are simple communication-style differences over the many cultures this hotel must serve. So, this I can say: Each issue I had, the staff resolved. The timing or speaking style or methods of resolving them — those may have been a bit odd to me. But, keep... More

Wow .....what a review and what a pleasure to read your very honest and candid thoughts . As you mentioned we are a new international property and of the many languages spoken here English / Norwegian / Swedish / Spanish are the dominant ingredients in what we call The Thief Factor . Soulful floors and an abundance of pillows are... More

When I arrived on a cold, snowy evening in early October, the last thing I wanted was a negotiation. I was hopeful that this new property on the wharf would be worth its high price and remote location. I had reserved my room through a full-service travel agent not a discount website. After arriving in my room with my bags... More

If you want to spend time in Oslo, the new Tjuvholmen area (where the hotel is located) is probably the best designed development in the last 50 years. The ocean front property (as well as the area) has been designed as a stunning testament to the new oil wealth that Norway has gained. Surrounded by cafes, restaurants, beaches, lounges and... More

Greetings and many thanks for your review of The Thief . Great to read that you had such an enjoyable stay . As you mentioned were located on a new peninsular on the Oslo Fjord called Tjuvholmen . The project has just won the Urban Land Institute Global Award of which were very proud . To see the service described... More

A truly unique design hotel....more art around the place than you even realise, hence the fact it has the highest insurance for any hotel in the world. Wonderful views of the fjord, beds like heaven and a breakfast that was one of the best I've had....the smoked salmon was particularly incredible. A good rooftop and a reception again full of... The Thief is a beautiful property in a fantastic location. In Oslo, I wouldn't stay anywhere else but it is pricey and the rooms are super small. The bathrooms are state of the art but tiny. Great shower. Make sure you get a room with a water view. Breakfast in the dining room is good. The staff is exceptional. They... More

This was my 3rd stay at "The Thief" since it opened a year or so ago and it is getting better with each visit. The rooms are modern but comfortable encouraging a good nights sleep and breakfast in the restaurant is a great way to start the day. The staff maintain a welcoming "small luxury hotel" feel and attitude. I... More

What a wonderful hotel, called this weird name due to the fact that this is where brigands used to hang out in ancient times. It oozes sex appeal and despite the fact you need a PhD to figure out the electrics it really is a wonderdul experience. Eat out though. To pay over £100 a head with not much house... More

Greetings and many thanks for your very interesting review of The Thief . Great to read that you had such an enjoyable stay .
