Clean Hotel, but small rooms with beds for 3. The third bed blocking the aisle so you can not go to the bathroom if you do not jump on the bed. Bathroom horrible, small, with no sink inside and closed with windows that look in the room so that everyone can see directly the WC from the room. more

I stayed at Thon Hotel Gyldenlove for 10 nights in Aug 2008. The rooms are clean, the linen is snow-white, the staff is very courteous, breakfast is superb and there is also a complementary tea-coffee machine in the lounge. The glass panel in the bathroom wall should not bother you if you are staying alone. You may even watch TV... more

The location of the hotel was so inconvenient, far from the bus and train station, and removed from the popular tourist attractions. I would suggest this hotel for anyone traveling to their country's embassy, as all the embassies were close. The room we had was filthy, and the mini bar was a locked vending machine instead of a cool place... more

In a fairly pleasant location just outside the city centre. Its main drawback was lack of air conditioning in the room, especially when the curtains were left open all day by the maid. It did not/could not supply the requested room equipped for a disabled person, which was rather a nuisance. Thirdly, on my floor sleep was disrupted every night... more

First off - DO NOT BE PUT OFF by the fact it's called the Rainbow Gyldenlove hotel. It's not one of 'those' hotels and there are no sachets of lube and condoms in your room! It's actually a pretty classy affair for a mid-range hotel, the staff being quite friendly and the rooms a sterile and tame affair, clean and... more

So called 'boutique" hotel, depressingly minimalist in style, no more comfortable than a youth hostel. The minibar was unfathomably complicated to operate, we gave up. Rooms are tiny, bathrooms have a wet shower only and are lethally slippy. The wash basin was in the main sleeping area, surely that went out some years ago. Thon hotels have reputation for modern... more

Positives: Newer, clean, decent-sized rooms. Easy access to very-convenient tram system, which we used extensively. Free Internet in lobby. Mostly friendly staff spoke decent English and were helpful. Good breakfast including warm items. Nice neighborhood with convenience stores and a more-residential feel. Good-sized shower area. Negatives: Shower/toilet area had very odd window to the main room; definitely not for those... more

HOTEL IN A NICE LOCATION, BUT NOT FOR WALKING TO SITES. It is far from main attractions, but this is made up for by tram just outside door which is inexpensive-one of few things in city tht is! Do not man this to be a negative review-considering prices in Oslo this was a bargain, and two nice 7/11s nearby for... more

A very nice hotel, surprised that it's not rated more highly... There are many good things to say... clean, nice, great location, super staff, etc. It wasn't easy to figure out where this hotel is on the Oslo map (just off the city center), but it was easy to find (#11 tram from Oslo S or #19 - I think... more

The hotel is okay. The room I stayed in was a double. The bath was just the shower and toilet. No tub and no shower cutain. So, the toilet paper got wet and the floor was wet if you needed to use it after showering. The sink was in the "bedroom" area and was small. There was little room for... more
