Important to note I had an upgraded room (corner room, maybe room #602) from an internet special. So the size was a bit bigger than most. Paid around US$200/night and for such an expen$ive city, it was steal. Exceptionally clean. Sizable, with a small patio with a table and chair. A view of both the city and the water... The... more

I stayed here on a business trip to Norway. The hotel was steps away from the train station and only a few minute walk to all of the attractions. My room was a decent size for a European hotel. I had a view of the new opera house and harbor. Breakfast was very filing each morning. more

The room, a single, was six foot wide and 16 feet long (2 meters by 5 meters). The smallest room I've ever been assigned in a long life of travel. Laughable. more

Location, room was fine but there was no iron or ironing board in the room and the hotel could not have one sent up to my room. They only have an 'ironing room' on the fourth floor so I've had to take my case and all my work shirts for a week long business trip down five floors and spend... more

This hotel is very clean, and nice. The room are held in warm colors, the bed was so soft I thought I would sink through it to the floor. Slept extremely well. Price was at around 180 Euro, incl. breakfast. Service can appear a little impersonal due to the big lobby and long reception, but is effective and fast. The... more

Extremely clean. Comfortable beds with good pillows and Scandinavian quality duvets. Excellent breakfast included with the room rate. Close to the train station and just across from the beautiful new Opera building, which you can walk on top of! Sign up for the hotel points card and you quickly get free night's stays. Not cheap (everything in Norway is expensive)... more

If you want a decent, well located hotel in Oslo for a reasonable budget (nothing is cheap here), the Thon Hotel Opera can be a good choice. As the name says, it is right in front of the new opera house (fantastic place), and a few steps of the train station (that will save you some good money in taxis... more
