The staff made the difference at this hotel. Front desk staff were eager to help and volunteer information, arrange late checkout, store luggage, etc. Breakfast room staff hurried to clear tables and restock when the 7 tour groups descended at the same time. Had a super quiet "disabled" room, very well-equipped. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Fantastic buffet breakfast! The Hotel is very centrally located, just off Karl Johann. The Rica Victoria is very well located in central Oslo near the museums, shopping and waterfront. Hotel is located very centrally and it is easy to come from the airport train, which stops at Nationaltheatret station that is really close by hotel. I've been staying here a bit for business trips. I prefer it to the Bristol, which probably has the extra star by virtue of a gym and a couple of stuffed moose. It can be considerably less expensive than the Bristol, and also has kettles and free internet. Otherwise they are very similar and are typical 3/4 star soulless hives... more

The hotel is very central in Oslo, 5 minutes walk from parliament and the main shopping street (Karl Johans Gate), and only 12 minutes walk to the Central train station.
