Our first ever trip to Oslo, so we figured central was good. This hotel was perfectly located with easy access to transport, sights, shops and restaurants. We were lucky to be upgraded to the most magnificent suite, a truly magic experience, huge room with a lovely terrace, sauna and the roomiest bathroom I've ever had, as well as an expresso... More

We stayed here for a couple of days late Sept 2014. Lovely old hotel in the centre of Oslo. Perfect location for everything! Staff were friendly & the room (301) was stunning!! Would definitely come back.

If you want some local charm at a (by Oslo standards) affordable rates, consider the Grand. It is a wood-panelled old style hotel. The location is perfect. My room was tastefully modern and wonderfully quiet. The fitness room is compact but very workable, despite the absence of free weights. The hotel is currently renovating the lifts, and hopefully the carpeted... More

Great location. The hotel (exterior) is gorgeous. Unfortunately, you have to walk inside. Disappointing interior. Our room was functional, but desperately needed to be redone (did not match the photographs on the website!) The hotel lay out is strange, difficult if you are carrying bags--many stairs, especially if you are on the "half floor" between 4 and 5 as we... More

A friend and I had lunch outside on a hot day. We had salads with white wine that was properly chilled. The service was excellent. While it was expensive we enjoyed ourself tremendously. People watching added to our enjoyment.

What a lovely, cosy, English-speaking, family-friendly hotel in Oslo this is! I went there with my grandparents and my brother in 2013, mainly because my brother for some weird reasonhad always wanted to go to Norway. Personally, I think Oslo is really under-rated for tourism, and for a weekend break is often harshly overlooked. Anyways. The decor is lovely, and... More

My daughter and I stayed on the Ladies Floor for one night in August 2014 (no twin beds are available on this floor). We had requested this room and were pleased that it had been allocated to us. We really enjoyed our stay here and the breakfast in the Grand Cafe was delicious and plentiful. We also enjoyed a drink... More

Hotel is right in the middle of Oslo.. Walking distance to train station, shopping street, harbor, etc. You feel that you transport back in time when you are in this hotel.. It smells of old wood.. So you feel a lot of history.. A bit scary at night if your imagination goes wild.. Breakfast is also nice.. Really nice breakfast... More

We found this historic hotel, elegant, accommodating, well located and worth the money. The hotel is on the main street, Karl Johan, which makes it easy to get to sights, catch public transportation and find places to eat. The rooms are good size, elegantly fitted, have great bathrooms and comfortable for rest and sleep. The breakfast is delicious and served... More

Supposedly this is the grand dame of hotels in Oslo. Unfortunately, it just feels old and dated. The exterior is beautiful and it's well-located. However, inside, it's a bit of a disappointment. To get to your room, you go through a maze of corridors that are at split levels. Up a few flights of stairs, down a few flights of... More
