Cochs Pensjonat is a good base to explore Oslo. Located near the heart of the city, most of the major attractions were within walking distance, though the central location does mean that roadside rooms are quite noisy (but hey, it's a city). My single en-suite room was spacious, and included a small kitchen area of hob, sink and fridge, which... more

This is a good small hotel in a perfect location, right next to the Presidential Palace and within 5 minutes walk to the town centre. 4 of us had one big room with 4 single beds, flat-screen TV and kitchenette with a small fridge and an electric cooker. The cost of overnight stay was just over 30 Euro per person,... more

My family of 3 stayed in a 4-bed room, and found the hostel clean, comfortable and very well located. Yes, there was noise: it was June, the Euro cup was on, and people were out very late. So? It is a hostel in a major urban center, not a luxury hotel in Dubai. more

Booked the Cochs for a weekend break in Oslo for four of us. Emailed in advance to request a best room with a double bed and a two best single rooms. I should mention that they make you pay up-front when you arrive - before you see the room Arrived very late after our flight was delayed to find that... more

Very basic hotel, but with all you need for a relatively cheap and comfortabel stay in Oslo. Rooms were clean, reception was correct and friendly. All the basic stuff was there, and if you want to cook for urself in expensive oslo it's even possible (we didn't do it, so i don't really know if there was any cooking equipment,... more

Within a five minutes' walk you are already at the Royal Palace -- quite a great location! There is a tram stop very close, as well. Very small and very basic room, but you surely of course know this given that it is a budget option. Given that it was so cheap (for Oslo), I have no complaints really. Didn't... more

Stayed 1 night...love the location. I was given the triple room despite being alone - was told that all the single rooms were taken up, not too sure how true. My colleague who was there 2 days earlier managed to secure a single room even though he extended another night at the last minute. Anyhow, downside is that it can... more

I heard about this hotel via the LP website and heeded the various reviews on TripAdvisor. As I was staying 5 nights they readily gave me a room at the back of the hotel, away from the elevators and downstairs pub. Wi-fi is expensive at $5 an hour US ($6 AUSD)not always reliable (I lost money) so if you are... more

The main bad point about this place is undoubtedly the noise. I had a room a bit away from the road so I didn't have too many problems from there. The worst comes from inside the pension, you can be disturbed by doors opening/closing and women in high heels clip clopping through the wooden corridors. It does have nice high... more

I stayed here two nights in a room facing the street. Ok, this place is not for people who want to have a peaceful romantic vacation. Although the street is noisy and there are people all the time, the location is perfect, the prices are affordable (I'd rather say cheap in Oslo,) and the whole place is very lively. There's... more
