Booked in as part of a package this evening. The tour operator didn’t let us know we had an evening meal at the hotel included. Checked in at 3.30pm came down to double check our evening meal was definitely included and what the menu was at about 4pm. The menu was set (photo included - not the most extensive of choices!) and I explained to the receptionist that I couldn’t eat fish (as some types make me extremely poorly.) Bearing in mind dinner wouldn’t be served at the earliest 6.30pm, the response was a flat no to finding an alternative. Rude, cold and exceptionally unhelpful. If it takes them hours to prepare and make the most basic of set meals - I cannot say I’m looking forward to breakfast. Really pathetic! Our room is also extremely noisy as the trams go past - I’d steer clear of this hotel in future!

Good location in the city center. Large nice room with big windows and a comfortable bed. Reception staff were very helpful and nice. A good variety breakfast. Afternoon coffe and a simple dinner is included. It’s just a few minutes walk to the train station that takes you to Gardemoen airport

Well located, well run. Comfortable, spacious room, bathroom is the size of an NYC apartment! Room charge includes breakfast, afternoon tea (“filka” in Norwegian), and dinner. All three were excellent. ADVICE: Hotel IS NOT handicapped accessible. —There are steps to get to the elevator. —There are two steps to climb from the room to the bathroom. —There are no grab bars in the bathtub and you will have to climb over the edge of the bathtub to shower or bathe. If you are sensitive to noise ask for a room that DOES NOT overlook the side street with the tram tracks. I grew to rather like the hiss and rattle,

Very friendly staff, delicious food; especially the breakfast, comfortable beds, powerful shower, super location! Unfortunately, the rooms let this hotel down. They appear unclean as the carpet and furnishings are so outdated. There was an issue with a smell of sewage in bathroom 202 and the door in 215 would not lock when leaving the room. This was reported and unfortunately not resolved.

Pros: good location, pleasant staff, large comfortable bed, coffee machine in room, lots of power sockets in room, fridge in room, Hairdryer in bathroom, powerful shower, great breakfast selection, option of evening meal. Cons: we had a room on low floor with trams right outside (goes with the good location but were very noisy), no large mirror in bedroom (room 213), no usb port, no safe in room, no milk for coffee (may have been available but we didn't ask) Overall a good stay and would stay again

Closet space modified as room and used to force fit extra booking. I was provided room 419, which is just a small storage area or at max a closet space. They force fitted a bed in it and gave to me as single room. The width of the room was not even 4 feet! You call that a room? Didn't even give me a refund if by mistake you had over booked. I paid full amount.

This was a difficult review to score. There are some great things about this hotel and some very poor! The positives - good location in the city. Within walking distance of most of the city attractions and locations. Tram stop conveniently outside hotel. The biggest plus is the evening buffet meal included in the price!! Eating out in Oslo is a very expensive business for often mediocre food so this saves a fortune. Yes the options are limited but all were fine and we found the food very good!! Unlimited tea and coffee available from machines on floor 2 and reception, as there are no facilities in the rooms. The staff were also helpful. Negatives- biggest issue we found was the noise from the road below at night. There are night clubs near the hotel, and the noise of partying kids goes on until around 3am, and on the Saturday pretty much all night, we did not get a single nights uninterrupted sleep. Also the rooms are very small, this did not unduly bother us but they were not very clean either. Only superficial cleaning seems to take place at best as there was a lot of dust. The bathrooms though we’re fine with heated flooring. Also you need to note that regardless of how long you stay, they will not make up the room at all during your stay. You can ask for clean towels from reception. This is quite disappointing, when you go on holiday you don’t really want to be spending it doing the housework!! I would be reluctant to stay here again due to the noise and no housekeeping, but must admit the free evening buffet is s big positive.

Hotel was right near tram and bus stops, great breakfast and dinners made it convenient since we had small children . The only negative was the noise at night from the street but so tired from all we did in the day that I was able to go right back to sleep.

Loved our experience. The staff were great, the food was good, the location amazing. We will be back. Sol and Sabina were very personable and helped us out with several questions. they are the name I remember, but all staff were great. Our room was huge and we had heated floors in our bathroom. We were in a deluxe corner room. It was load on the street on Friday night and we were fine with that, but it might bother some people. We would return in a heartbeat.

Clarion Hotel Savoy has got mixed reviews, but our 3-night stay was really pleasant and I would definitely book it again. The hotel has old-time charm, and though the standard room is quite small (compared to the huge bed, which occupied most of the room), it was functional with a beautiful bathroom. The location of Hotel Savoy in the city centre is excellent and unless you want to explore Oslo on foot, you can easily do it by tram or bus. The best part of the stay was the delicious high-quality breakfast and ”light” dinner, which turned out to be a 3-course meal (warm main, soup and various salads). I don’t eat meat so I just asked the staff member in passing if there was any vegetarian warm-dish option and the next night they had prepared delicious chickpea curry as an extra dish for me. That’s what I call real customer service!😀 Also, the afternoon final (coffee and cake) was a plus in this expensive city. The only (tiny) minuses were a very small selection of TV channels and (in my personal opinion) uncomfy pillows (one gigantic, the other flat and lumpy). But after strolling around Oslo for many hours and enjoying the evening meal, those issues didn’t prevent us from sleeping well in our quiet room facing the inner yard.
