The Vikings apartment is excellent and you have everything you need close by. The rooms are clean and it has a washer-dryer, dish washer, refrigerator, and a complete kitchen. The free coffee and waffles in the evening are definitely a bonus. Will definitely visit again.

It has been almost a year and despite the Hotel management claiming they have solved the problem of being charged twice, funds have not be returned. I have lived in Norway on and off for years and this is fairly typical of customer service; they don't really care. I love Norwegians, but their customer service is abysmal. They need to... More

We stayed at this hotel in April for our 3 day trip to Tromso. It was just what we needed. We had a family room, it was nice and it was clean. It was a bit cramped for the 4 of us but we weren't in it for very long so that didn't really matter to us. The breakfast was... More

After arriving late in Tromso due to delayed flights we ended up in the Viking Hotel at 1.00am. To compound our misery, a bottle of duty-free red wine (yes, it is expensive in Norway!) had smashed through one of our bags. Never mind - the more than excellent night porter welcomed us with a smile and some calm words and... More

I made overnight visit in Tromso, and decided to stay in Viking Hotel, because of the location and price. Hotel is value for money. Nothing special or luxury but room was clean and comfortable. Service was very good and friendly. Free parking front of the hotel, free wi-fi and breakfast. Also, short distance everywhere where I went. Good choice. Oh... More

We stayed in a two bedroom apartment around the corner from the main hotel. The apartment was well equipped and on the whole clean, although the blinds could go with a dusting! The check in was easy and the reception staff were incredibly helpful. The location was perfect and close to some great bars and restaurants, try Pinocchio s Italian... More

We booked ABC Hotel for a 3 bed-room apartment, and got upgraded to Viking Hotel as they decided to close ABC Hotel during the Easter period. Therefore we automatically have a huge increase in value for money as Viking Hotel is positioned to be a middle-class hotel while ABC Hotel is more of a budget setting. We got a rental... More

I highly recommend these apartments - they are linked to the Viking hotel. We had a two bedroom loft converted apartment just round the corner from the hotel which was very big and spacious for myself, husband and 2 teenagers. The view from the dining area looked out on to the town, harbour and the mountain with the cable car.... More

My wife and I have found we really prefer apartment style accommodation when traveling overseas as it eases her burden in dealing with gluten and dairy intolerances. As it turns out, restaurants in Tromsø don't have any issues providing gluten and dairy free food, but the cost of eating out will certainly put a dent in your budget! Enter Viking... More
