I have stayed at this nice 3 floor house for 3 nights. The one we stayed is located by the river and have a nice view. We went to the wrong location and the host is nice enough to carry our luggage to the correct location! I would recommend this one to all travelers to Tromso ^^

Thank you very much for your kind words! It was a pleasure having you here, as well as helping out with the luggage - it was the least we could do! For other travellers we could add that the house you stayed in was the Fisherman's home and we agree the view from there is quite nice (although it overlooks... More

Stayed in both for a Northern Lights visit recently. Two nights in Writers then switched to Fishermans for a further four nights, switching rooms a further time. We had a hire car so need to book a parking place and checking in late in the evening no problem. Both cosy and have all you need to be self catering and... More

Thank you very much for your kind words and for staying with us! We appreciate it a lot. We also wish we could arrange the bathrooms in the Fisherman's home a bit differently, but without tearing down the whole house and rebuilding it in a more modern way it's not so much to do about it. That's the charm of... More

We stayed in the Fisherman's home for 2 nights in March 2014. Positive points: Ida’s delicious creamy fish soup on Wednesday, nice view over the fjord from the living room window, house is cozy and clean, comfortable bed, good kitchen facilities Negative points (which also depend on how many guests there are and how they behave): noise from the street,... Stayed here for a week in jan/feb 2014 and had an amazing time. the house is super cosy and like a home from home. 2 of us shared a 'single' room which was actually plenty big enough for the pair of us. The whole house has been recently decorated too so each room has a different look and the giant... More

We stayed at the Writer's Home at the end of January and it felt like home straight away. The whole house is warm and beautifully decorated. As travellers on a budged we loved the fact that we could use the kitchen (eating out in Norway is incredibly expensive) and do our own washing. We fell in love with the place... More

I stayed at the Fisherman's Home in Tromsø with two friends for 6 nights. We really enjoyed our time there, and have already recommended it to many of our friends as the place to stay in Tromsø. The home is very well located: a mere 5 or 6 minute walk to the bus station (connects to the airport and surrounding... More

Stayed 5 nights in end Dec 2013 and hope to see the aurora in Tromso. Booking was made a few months ahead and confirmation was received within very short time. No booking fee or credit card information was required. We arrived Tromso by the Hurtigruten Ferry. It was about 20 minutes walk from the ferry pier to Tromso B&B, though... More

We stayed in writer's home for four nights. Just like the name, really like home, so cleanly, so wonderful. The "writer" is very kind and beautiful, we got incredibly welcome when arrived. We will absolutely visit again.

I stayed at the Fisherman Lodge in July 2013. Was visiting Tromso for the "Midnight Sun". Had a lovely cosy room, was clean and bed was very comfortable! Was worried how I may cope with 24hrs daylight and trying to sleep. The blinds in the room come fully down and no light appeared in the room at all! Slept well... More

I stayed at Bed and Books in the Fisherman's Home in March 2013. It really was a home from home although I did get a bit lost and went to Writers Home first (my fault) so do make sure you check before you tell the taxi where to drop you off! Both homes are 'no outdoor shoe' zones (great idea... More
