Actually, we had a very small room. Moving the luggage around so we could get to the bathroom at night and out the door during the day was a hassle. However, the setting is amazing and the people are, if possible, even more amazing. It is hard to imagine a more pleasant place to stay. The activities in the area... More

A wonderful winter wonderland, like many others staying longer due to being snowed in and no ferries stopping to pick us up. Hosts were beyond kind and the food fabulous. Organic where possible and local..crab from the waters outside. We were stuck in a gale but found ti so warm and cosy we didn't want to leave..fab furnishings and atmosphere... More

With the help of "Discover the World" (whom I would also recommend) we spent 2 nights at this wonderful, comfortable, homely, friendly & relaxing guesthouse. We arrived via Hurtegruten and spent 2 nights on route to Kirkenes - a stop off sadly not promoted, publicised or seemingly known about by the Hurtegruten staff. A shame, and we hope that we... More

We should have been here for two nights however a storm that prevented us docking at Bervelag and closed the road between Batsfjord and Kongsfjord meant we had only one night here which was a real shame. We were collected from the bus stop having arrived in Kongsfjord by bus in the 'convoy' behind a snowplough! The guesthouse is really... More

We stayed here as so many do, for two nights, between a Hurtigruten trip and Kirkenes, and we were a bit concerned as to where exactly we would be and what we would do - it was paradise! I have never spent time in such a remote, beautiful and wonderful location, in deep snow and it was truly exhilerating. Just... More

We stayed here for two nights from 19th February 2013 although it ended up as three due to the fact that the Hurtigruten was unable to dock due to the weather . The hosts were excellent as was the food and best of all the views of the Northern Lights . Because we were unable to get the boat on... More

We spent two nights here as part of an Inn travel package and the location is fantastic. Our room was probably one of the better ones with two single beds and a sitting area. Whilst there we took a 'Glass engraving workshop' run by two Italians who have moved to this remote part of the world and is a great... More

We echo all the other good reviews of this lovely guesthouse. We spent 2 days there between Hurtigruten trips and found the hospitality, food, setting and general care second to none. Most of all - given that the temperature was around minus 20 outside - it was lovely and warm!

What a stunning place to stay. The most magnificent views, fantastic food (lunch and dinner are amazing), and friendly staff. I'm 100% certain that the guys on the Hurtigruten haven't stayed here because if they had they wouldn't be so clueless. The staff were always helpful and very flexible. They provided us with snowshoes + other equipment to keep us... More

this guesthouse was absolutely fantastic! we were asked by a member of staff on the hurtigruten why on earth were we going there, which made me very nervous (i understand this has happened before!) and so i was quite aprehensive about going. but the reviews on here do not lie... the place is gorgeous! we were picked up as promised...
