The guesthouse sits on a small peninsular so visitors have both the arctic sea and snowy mountains to enjoy. In the day we explored the beaches, tried kick sledging (great fun!) and snowshoeing. The scenery is fantastic and there were numerous reindeer nearby to keep us company. Ase, Tryggen and Margerita were so kind and hospitable and the food was... More

This guest-house is one of the best that we have ever stayed at, located on the Veines peninsula the location is just stunning, and Ase & Tryggen together with Margeritha are fantastic hosts with terrific meals and lots of stories about the area. The Veines peninsula is a great place to explore with varied wildlife and amazing scenery. Well worth... More

This was different, and outstanding. We spotted the opportunity 3 years ago in a Finnair Magazine. It sounded intriguing and finally followed it up, and surpassed all hopes. Marvellous to plunge 4 nights into real far north winter, in a dark, cold snowy windy remote picturesque settlement by the Arctic coast. But with full comforts, a cosy well heated traditional... We did as many others have done and stayed there as part of a Discover the World (a very good travel company highly recommended) self guided tour of Finnmark. Had two nights there and were treated royally. It happened to be my 65th birthday whilst we were there and when the staff found out we were treated to special King... More

We spent almost a week in the restored fisherman's cottage that's right on the shore of the Berent Sea, the red cottage if you look at google street view, using it as a base for birding northern Finnmark. It was a fairyland experience, very comfortable yet somehow felt adventurous to people from sunny California. Dinners at the main house were... More

Actually, we had a very small room. Moving the luggage around so we could get to the bathroom at night and out the door during the day was a hassle. However, the setting is amazing and the people are, if possible, even more amazing. It is hard to imagine a more pleasant place to stay. The activities in the area... More

A wonderful winter wonderland, like many others staying longer due to being snowed in and no ferries stopping to pick us up. Hosts were beyond kind and the food fabulous. Organic where possible and local..crab from the waters outside. We were stuck in a gale but found ti so warm and cosy we didn't want to leave..fab furnishings and atmosphere... More

With the help of "Discover the World" (whom I would also recommend) we spent 2 nights at this wonderful, comfortable, homely, friendly & relaxing guesthouse. We arrived via Hurtegruten and spent 2 nights on route to Kirkenes - a stop off sadly not promoted, publicised or seemingly known about by the Hurtegruten staff. A shame, and we hope that we... More

We should have been here for two nights however a storm that prevented us docking at Bervelag and closed the road between Batsfjord and Kongsfjord meant we had only one night here which was a real shame. We were collected from the bus stop having arrived in Kongsfjord by bus in the 'convoy' behind a snowplough! The guesthouse is really... More
