Stayed in an apartment, which was quite basic but comfortable, breakfast was typically Norwegian, fresh fruit and meats, rolls and bread very tasty, enjoyed two evening meals which were well cooked and presented. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, Wifi worked well and we have already booked to stay here again

We could not have asked for more! The family rooms are very comfortable, both for resting and hanging out with our travel buddies. Not that we want to hang out in our room the whole time, because the common areas are designed in such a way there is plenty of light and airiness to the space. Yet somehow it manages... More

The rooms may be small but they are very nice and got all the facilities you may need. If you're after a place to sleep and shower this is perfect. The rooms seem new, nice, clean, well planned and got beds with very good mattresses. The services of the reception staff was excellent, but some of the breakfast staff should... More

Our room was in a separate building that faced the building with the lobby and eating area. The room seemed new, and was modern and spotless. It was also TINY. The bed was very comfy, however, the weather was very hot, so the room got really hot. It was the best price for lodging that we could find in Hamar... More

We booked this hostel because we were a party of five with a child and wanted to have an apartment where we could cook (eating out in Norway is massively expensive!) that was near to Hamar. Effectively, this was the only option. We arrived early and were told we couldn't check in until 3pm. There was nowhere for us to... More

OK. Room very tiny and I am a solo traveler. There is no where to lay suitcase flat with leaving much room for anything else. Maybe they have larger rooms for families. The room I had was for one adult and another person to sleep on bunk bed top. The mattress was fantastic and I slept great. Internet connection very... More

I stayed at the Vikingskipet for one night, arriving almost before the reception closes and leaving early in the morning. I believe it's not the closest location to the centre (I paid NOK 160, a bit more than € 16 for a taxi from the train station), but the hostel itself is more than good. The girl at the reception... I stayed at Hamar Hostel Vikingskipet from May 19th to the 20th. I stayed in an apartment in the main building called "løten lys". The apartment has a small seating area, a well equiped kitchen, a large bathroom and a beautiful bedroom. The breakfast the next morning was also very good. The cleanliness was good and the service excellent. I... More

Never have I been so happy to sleep in a motel. The room standard is fine - the regular rooms are adequately sized with 2 people staying, with 3 or 4 you'll have to set aside any desires for personal space. The bathrooms are visibly old, but fully functional. For the week we stayed, they had decided to not attempt... More

Very tiny room, probably the smallest I ever stayed in. Bunk beds. Tv. The room was too small for the little table it offered but that was where we could dump our suitcase. Wirelss internet very slow, maybe due to not being acommodated in main building. Outside picnic tables. The reception also had a few tables for meals, a la... More
