A colleague and I stayed at the Rica Park on the night of 26 March. Our rooms had been reserved some weeks before by a local Norwegian company who were visiting.

When we arrived, we were told that no reservation had been made, despite us having a reference number. In fact we did have reservations, but they were recorded on a seperate computer system from the one used to allocate rooms and now they were fully booked!

After a lot of checking on both computer systems, we were found 2 rooms. Unfortunately mine was obviously a room kept for such an occasion. It was very small, tired and had a smelly bathroom. I tried to change it but was told there was nothing else. This was disappointing as we had booked several weeks before. I was not given a discount and my complaints about this were greeted by a shrug of the receptionists shoulder...

Overall, the hotel appeared to be very tired and in need of refurbishment. for example the lounge furniture was frayed... more
