This was our first visit to Vienna, and we fully enjoyed our stay in this hotel. The reception staff were friendly and offered us welcome drinks in the bar. Our room was large and spacious, with a comfortable bed and large rainfall shower. Considering the price we paid (approx £35 a night) we felt this hotel offered great value for... More

This was my first trip to Vienna which was fabulous. The hotel is nice, I had a single room to myself which was comfortable - however air con would have been great as my room was very very stuffy which made sleeping difficult. Was offered free cold bottled water and had a small desk fan. Could do with new towels... More

We had a great stay at Hotel Vienna! The location is great because it is close to a large metro station -Praterstern and walking distance into the city centre. There is also a bike rental station nearby that we often used to get into the city. It was in a quiet location but close enough to the city! The room... More

It would be a great, well restored place were it not partially set in the 1800's and devoid of air conditioning or a fridge that is cold (no joke - put your leftovers in there and you'll have a hot lunch in about 10 minutes). The fan they provided is great at pushing a little of that stinking hot air... More

The room is very clean, and nice in general, I enjoy the shower. But during the hot summer especially the heat wave hits in Vienna, AC is a must, please. The little desktop fan provided by front desk didn't really help much. I can imaging during the winter time this room must be very warm and cozy.

My wife and I stayed in Hotel Vienna for 3 nights in July and we were quite satisfied with the overall experience. The hotel is situated in a quiet street just a 5-minute walk from Praterstern and Prater, with an U-bahn station just around the corner. Great location, far enough from the city centre so as not be bothered by... More

First, no air conditioning. Second, no iron or ironing board. Third, a 90 plus degree room will not steam the wrinkles out of your shirt now matter how long you stay. The place was clean and efficient. Not large by any means. Liked the old man clerk, his English was very good and British I might add. If you ask... More

In fairness the hotel is nice and would be fine in the winter but with no air con in the 30+ degree heat you can't enjoy it or recommend it. Would've given 3 stars only for the reception staff. Bar a lovely blonde lady, the evening guys were a little strange and when checking out we weren't asked if we... More

Car park only had 2 spaces so book if needed. Good New bar, pleasant and helpful staff, A bargain at 60 to 70 Euro's a night, We will be back.... More

Hotel Vienna is a renovated family place from 1950s. Its highlight is friendly, professional, helpful and amusing staff at the reception. It's a good value for money, since a night for 2 can cost as little as 70 Euros. Rooms are of average size, beds are comfortable, bathrooms are ok, however the glass bathroom doors are peculiar, especially if you... More

Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighborhood Profile
Leopoldstadt
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city center and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theaters, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
